Not to undermine a very serious situation, and yes, I'm sorry it happened, but I find it REALLY irritating that this dog is not considered to be a "threat".

hmmmmm. if it were a "pit bull", I wonder how different its fate would have been.....

A 3 year-old boy is recovering at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters after being bitten several times by a dog belonging to his father's roommate.
Police say that Tuesday night at around 8:45, the boy was playing with the golden retriever lab mix type dog when it attacked him, biting him several times in the face. The boy's father got the dog away from his son and took him to Maryview Hospital. He was then airlifted to CHKD due to the extensive nature of his injuries.
The boy is expected to recover, but his relatives say he faces plastic surgery. They say he is talking to them, which they consider to be a good sign.
Animal control officers did not take the dog into custody as they say they don't consider the dog to be a threat to anyone else.
The dog is quarantined.

How fu**ing stupid ........ "they dont consider it a threat to anyone else" what if the dog killed the boy would they say the same thing??

If that was a "pit bull" that did that ... the dog would be deemed vicious, unpredicitable and a danger to the public and killed.

But i guess other mutts get off the hook. :(

Thats some BS!!!! Apparently the dog has bitten a child to the point where the little boy needs plastic surgery that dog needs to be taken and evaluated. or something. It's just not fair that Labs and Golden Ret.get off without anything being done.

My thoughts actually... There's a lady with a yellow lab across the hall, who is absolutely vicious, but because it's a lab, didn't have to go through a pet interview or anything, so here it is trying to eat me and my dogs... Racist bastards on all of it!
