So I just got back from taking Cheyenne to the ballfield to play fetch and alittle tug of war and to let her run around like a crazy dog..(its fenced in and no other dogs around)
So there is a young couple walking the track and Cheyenne runs up to them and they are petting her and they throw the ball a time or two and the girl asks me what kind of dog she was. I told her she was an APBT and the guy says she ain't no pit... I say sure she is.. he shakes his head, and tells me her head ain't blocked up and her ears are too floppy.. Now I know Boomer has the big blocky head and the shorter ears (still not cropped) but he's got some ghetto dawg in him.
What is it about people expecting her to have some massive head? This isn't this first time I've been told this by people... She looks fine to me.

Most people probaly wouldnt know what an APBT is if they tripped over one.......Its always "the head is not big enough" or "its to small to be a true pittz" ...just speaking about something they are dont know anything about. I get sick of the people who act like they know it all and eveyrthing they "heard" or say is 'fact" ....i just move on with my day or try to educate them.

There's always someone whos "ignorant" to the breed. They are always the first one to have something to say and they have no clue what there talking about. Trying to educate people like that is like talking to a brick wall. Next time just smile and nod. You know what your dog is so it doesnt matter to. She's adorable and thats all they need to know!:)

I know how ya feel. I get the same crap all the time. I constantly get told that Luci "ain't no pitt, she's way to small" . She is 29lbs and has a tiny head.

I never get that when I walk my male...and he is an APBT. But I get it all the time when I walk her:

When they tell me she isn't a pit...I say "you are absolutely correct, she is an American Staffordshire Terrier", look at their confused faces and walk on!!!!!!! And that is what she is an Am Staff...not a an APBT!!!!!

You can (obviously) tell she is a pit. I mean, come on. Only to people who give them a reputation think they have to look a certain way. Ignorance. By the way, she is gorgeous!

Ha Ha! I cannot tell you how many times I've done that! Especially if they want to bring their kids over to our house. Oh, an AmStaff is so much better! I absolutely hate ignorance!
Your dog is no way a pitbull. come on everyone knows a true pitbull is mixed with a bulldog somewhere down the line and is preferablly blue! Oh and the bigger and bulkier it is the better the bloodline. Im glad I could chime in and clear up the confusion

Just wonder why it matters? I would be ecstatic if people didnt realize what I was walking and just payed me no mind. Besides, in public they are always "amstaff" anyways.

http://www.game-dog.com/gallery/files/5/6/8/2/DCP_0231.JPG You have a nice Bulldog. Why you want others to know you have a PITBULL? Whats the point with this? If someone ask me about my dogs I say always its an unknown mix...maybe some boxer...some pointer...some hound...dont know really what. And you know what? It works or great for me! One time my dog shaced a Rottweiler like a ragdoll...high in the air and down on the ground....lol...and later I said to the owner sorry for the behavior of my Boxer -mix....and all was fine! What do you think would had happen if I had told the truth....just think.

Its not a matter of wanting people to know she's a pitbull, I don't go around singing it or anything, but if someone asks I don't lie to them..she is what she is.

I get the same comments about my girl alot. She doesn't have the blockhead or the broad chest , she is red with a black muzzle. Infact I had a woman tell me she was not a pitbull, but infact she was a boxer. I didn't even bother to argue I just walked off.
