Who's to decide what's yours to keep? In a trickle down effect, does this encompass our rights as dog owners of specific breeds?
Pretty interesting read, imo.

Subject: Labor Day, The Law, Cultural Inertia and Change
To Rural Landowners, Government Types, Interested Parties and the News Media:
NOTE: Today is LABOR day in America where now, the fruits of your labor are no longer your "property". They belong to the government because the government can come along and take any portion of it they deem appropriate to fund the government, just as they have TAKEN your land for environmental protection without due process and without compensation. So not only are property rights a thing of the past, but so are the fruits of your labor being your "property". If you have no rights to your "property" then it follows that you are the "property" of government. If you are the "property" of government, you have lost your freedom.
Our goal is to provide information to citizens and landowners that is relevant to our federal and state constitutions, freedom, liberty and property rights. To that end, we offer the following information on the law, cultural inertia and change. Although somewhat lengthy, we hope you will take the time to read it.
Ron Ewart, President, NARLO
The Law. The law can be used as the basis of our freedom, or a tool for our enslavement. Our U. S. Constitution was designed to be the safeguard, or the limits on government, to keep our government from using the law, or other means, as a tool to enslave the people. But if the people don't, or refuse, to defend their rights under our constitution, government, by its very nature, will move to enslave the people using the law. That is where we are today and it's only getting worse, not better.
Just about everyone of adult age, knows that the foundation of our country and our sovereignty are rooted in our Constitution and the Constitutions of each of the states. But that's about all they know. Unfortunately, if you asked many Americans to list the rights contained in the 1st Amendment, they might respond with "An Amendment to what, or what's a 'right'?" What most folks don't know is that our Constitutions have even deeper historical roots than the words of the Founding Fathers in framing our constitution. Those external roots also have the force of law.
Two of those external roots are found in Common Law: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_law)) and the Magna Carta: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta)).
So our system of laws is based on essentially three historical foundations, each having their own importance under many different civil or criminal situations. But nothing in this world is unchanging. Almost since the penning of signatures to the U. S. Constitution, it has been under constant pressure to change it. Thousands of Constitutional Amendments have been introduced to do just that. Fortunately, only a very few have been ratified. The executive, legislative and judicial branches of government have passed or adjudicated laws in direct violation of the Constitution. United Nations social and environmental agendas are being codified into U. S. law by executive order, or bureaucratic rule making, without legislative ratification, as required by the Constitution. The changes that have been wrought upon this historical document-of-freedom, by other than amendment, fills volumes. What the constitution means today and how it is implemented in various situations, either on a federal, state or local level, is radically different than what our Founding Fathers envisioned. The words "perverted for a political agenda" come to mind.
Below are some facts about our federal and state law (with "case" and "constitutional" law references), that only through exhausting research, would you ever uncover. I can't lay claim to this research, but I was given permission to pass it on to you. You would be wise to file this information somewhere so that you can reference it, if you become a target of an unjust accusation by bureaucrats, prosecutors or the courts. The actual researcher was and still is under attack, unjustly, by bureaucrats, a prosecutor and a lowly court judge who want to silence him by denying him his constitutional rights and throwing him in jail. What you will read in the following paragraphs is the result of him trying to understand his "true" rights and defend himself. It has been an uphill battle, but if he prevails it will be a win-win for the American people, our Federal and State Constitutions, freedom, liberty and property rights. You better hope he prevails.
With the millions of laws being passed by federal, state and local jurisdictions, being unjustly accused by government is becoming more and more, a very real possibility. If you do not understand, or if you dismiss, or are not interested in the following words and what they mean to your freedom, there is little chance that you will ever be a voice to defend freedom. But bear in mind, a freedom undefended, is a freedom lost. From our experience, only a few of you will take the time to read these words.
