Sorry guys I just need to let this one out.

I am in the military as y'all know... my greatest fear is not death, I will face it if the time comes and not run away from it. Its the fear of getting stationed somewhere I cant take CeeCee with me. My dogs are like my kids, they are a part of my life. Ive been trying to have a back up plan but my home town BANS pitbulls (Prince George County MD) so I cant possibly house it with my moms. My other relatives (husband side) doesnt really believe that dogs should be inside the house (they really dont care about dogs). I love my dogs with all my heart and the thought of somebody taking him away from me tears me apart, and ill hold him and without even knowing that I am holding him too tight, he didnt wiggle his way out but he started crying. I dont want to be away from him.. ever.

Sadly enough, my husband wanted to go into the military, and we both decided that it wasn't a good idea because of our pitbull. We couldn't handle someone either taking our child away, or simply telling us he wasn't allowed. We looked up the possible places we would be stationed at, and it was (obviously) too big of a risk we weren't willing to take.
Hopefully, you will find a way to be with your babies: I wouldn't want it any other way. Good Luck to you, and God bless.

I have to speak, (voluntarily) at another council meeting next week, so I've been gathering "ammo" to help me. It's ironic that in a case, Altman/vs. High Point, N.C. back in May, of 03, (U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit) that the court actually held/ruled, that dogs qualify as property, which they deemed protected by the 4th amandment of the United State's constitution. And yet, you, who fight's for this contry's own freedom cannot even own your breed of choice, depending upon, and due to the fact of where your particular base may be located. How messed up is this?!!!! !!!!!!!!

I'm sorry for your dilema. I have a family member in your situation, (sister), who has already had to give up her two dogs, due to "base rules". :( I feel for yah...

and BTW, "thank you" for your service.
I hope you will continue to be "sent" where APBTs are happliy allowed.
Safety, always....

I know what you guys are saying. I rent a full house right now, luckily my landlord does not mind pets or pits, but I would not give my dog up for living arangements and would even move to a different area or community if need be. He is a member of the family and my world revolves around him as it does my kids. Some people think i,m crazy for thinking this way, they say he is only a dog, I don,t give a sh*t what they say, he would die for me , it is the least I can do for him.

Yeah really good luck! I will cross my fingers for you too. what else are you doing for contingency plans for your dog if the worst happens? And you get stationed somewhere where the dog is not allowed?
Every one I know with pits is full up. I only have one pit but she doesn't care for other dogs...another female would be ...a big risk...to both of them...
have you talked to friends who work with you in rescue? There has to be some way...you can pm me...we'll brainstorm for ideas...If worse comes to worse, don't forget that you have friends on the internet who understand and will help....
And I would like to add my thanks to you for serving our country...I am sorry that...this is how you get repaid...
Don't forget to contact me if worse comes to worse...
