Ok...i'm a bit new here but not a newbie when it comes to the breed. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination.
My question/comment is this......After doing a lot of surfing for kennels etc i always get a first impression by the Kennels name. If a kennel has a "charming" name like Blood Sport Kennel (not a real kennel but i'm sure it will be) I don't even check 'em out.
Do any of you feel the same? Does a kennel name hurt the APBT reputation?

Most people that name their kennels some crazy name are not true to the breed and just trying to make money off a kennel name that sounds like they have bad ass killer dogs. Other people just dont care what Jon Q. Public thinks. I think naming your kennel a decent name is a way to keep a lower profile. No need for a bad ass name, dogs will speak for themself.
Now naming dogs crazy names is a different story....I say name them crazy names and the world can kiss your ass if they dont think it is P.C.. 99% of people have no clue anyway.

What kind of kennel names are you expecting anyway?
No, names don't mean much to me. I'd rather let their dogs speak for themselves.

I agree the dogs and the type of dogs there breeding the name dose not mean nothimg if they had a bad ass name for a kennel they could be breeding some nasty ass dogs.

Well I guess it all depends on what your looking for, example if you want a big blue cur, they ain't hard to pick out their kennel name, same thing goes for alot of the red dogs. I like Stillwaters kennel name, as a matter of fact that was the name I had on my kennel about 8-9 yrs. back, but I have a new one now, Slabtown kennels, it's the nick name for the area I live in. I have a header you can use on your kennels Stillwaters if you want it. Stillwaters run Deep! Mouser

I don't agree with them, but to each their own. I just wont get a dog from them. (I'm obnoxiously picky, though. I'll keep looking rather than compromise.)

What types of names am i expecting??? Something "normal" sounding. Not one that give the impression of blood thirsty psycho dogs foaming at the mouth.
As far as naming dogs goes....i'm not partial to crazy sounding names either...Jaws or The Mauler or Psycho etc. I mean yes the majority of ya'll have game bred dogs and thats cool but how does the public think when you're walkin' your dog and someone asks its name and you say Psycho etc. The impression they get is not a good one.
I'm not slaming anyone so please dont jump down my throat about this. I'm just asking thats all.

I'd rather see a well-behaved dog named "Psycho" than a pulling, snarling mess of a dog named "Princess". ;) Who am I to talk though, my dog's name is Pixie. Nothing vile or threatening about that lol.

I use initials instead of having a "formal" kennel name. We are registered, but at the time couldn'c come up with something we all agreed on so we just settled.

I especially love the websites with their kennel name and 'barb wire' in the background. Classy.

You wont catch the majority of TRUE game dog owners walking their dogs during the day or in a public area. Why advertise?? Its like saying call the police or the HS on me, PLEASE!!!! The truth is, if you claim to own a game dog it aint exactly gonna be "clean" if it is a game dog.
The majority of folks on here DONT have game dogs or game bred dogs. I'd say us game dog/game bred owners are a huge MINORITY, especially on this board.(game bred means being bred from game for gameness)
