UK -- French film star Brigitte Bardot on Friday slammed a new Geneva law requiring that all dogs be muzzled in public parks, adopted this week after a toddler was mauled by a pitbull."I don't think that a Yorkshire or a lapdog presents a great danger to the population," Bardot told the daily Tribune de Geneve.
"Unfortunately, dogs are paying the price for the ignorance, irresponsibility and bad behaviour of their masters," the animal rights activist added.
The Geneva government's decision on Monday to require muzzling of the city's 30,000 dogs has sparked public outrage, and calls for measures to restrain only pitbulls and bulldogs.
"We could also muzzle those who drive us nuts on public transport with their loud and edifying telephone conversations," one irate reader said in a letter to the same daily.
