I've been browsing around this site over a yr close to 2 now and had finally decided to become a member. Now, whether you like it or not I have my own personal preferences in the type of bulldogs I like. Call them whatever you wish, but BSL calls them "pit bulls" and in the long run that's why I joined here, to fight BSL because this is a dog my generation in my family enjoys and loves. Bash me and say what it is you want but I'm here to sign every petition I can and lend my help to those who need it because I may one day need someones help. Quite frankly put, I am just as much a victim as the rest of you and having my dogs taken from because certain people can't control or don't want to control their animals is the problem and it always has been. It doesn't matter what type of dog you or I have, but what matters is control.


P.s. I know many of you don't think I should be here, but those are the ones I think need to be educated. GOOD LUCK

I would guess that you're one of the ones who like to always prove a point. I think not.

I understand what you're saying, though. What's done is done, time to move on and fight together. And for that I applaud you. People like me are sometimes a little too fixated on the causes that we forget to take action against what is occuring in the present. I will always dislike the new cousins of the APBT, but I will stand up for those dogs, too. Gamedogs and Bluffs are in danger, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I lost my head because I was thinking I'd be accepted here because we all have one enemy to fight together, so I was like ok the kinda dogs I like won't matter and I wanted to share that with everyone, then the bashing about my dogs aren't performers and are worthless started coming. Not a damn person here has seen my dogs in action, so that instantly pissed me off. So yeah I lost my head, but I had to remind myself why I'm here. I was disrepsected when I decided to introduce the type of dogs I like. I never asked for anyones approval and won't and I won't stop liking what I like, but I will fight to be able to continue owning what I like. Maybe when my funds get right, Ill start a charity(hopefully within the next yr).

BTW: I'm pretty educated on the history but still have my preferences

Well I don't think it is talking about your dogs that got you bashed as much as it was the way you were leaning to that they are the new standard with the new age for the breed that caused it. Friction receives friction in most cases that is for sure.

I realize how you spelled the Gangster as gansta. Both ways as a self description do not make you sound inviting to reciprocate conversation with. However it is an observation of mine and probably based on experiences I have had with both likely long before your birth. I think about lead injections from a few thousand yards with both personality types. Which doesn't make me want to converse with you much. But I figure you have more intelligence than the average street being that walks around trying to bluff their way though life hopeful that every one is tricked by the personality externally given off. I believe you have a inner self that is worth talking too. I am by no means impressed by gangsta's or gangsters. There are more dangerous things in life than that. However not many as entertaining to me or that I see as a perpetration of a false sense of being. It was a intentional error as I don't believe you really want me to view you as that type of pesonality. It would be caustic to further conversations.

Well I would say this is a big turn around I myself was basshed and moved on now I am at a good site look at my dogs alot differentely I feel better about myself and my dogs. I wont go back to my old wheys and that was a lesson I learned. I do want to say you brought yourself back and didn,t back down I respect that and I will now give you some positive feedback. I dont give negative that is why I didn,t give it to you before. I was heated about some of the comments you said and i,m sorry about that. I actually ment to write an apology letter to you about it, but never could come up with the words.

As for your dogs. Well I would like to say now welcome to the site I hope you stick around and most imporantely hope you learned something from this experience.

The breed we call APBT.WOW, Mr. D. That was awesome and well put. I've read this and the other thread "Gangsta" was in about this topic- and I feel the same way. I'm not even much of a conformation buff in the least, my pits don't have peds- but I admire and love the APBT for all he's been through, and I prefer the traditional standard- out of loyalty to the hella journey this breed has traveled, and out of respect for those true dogmen (and women) who have been so passionate in keeping certain bloodlines sacred.
I am a Pit Bull Advocate. I write several letters weekly to sheisty reporters, ignorant politicians, and BYB scumbags in my area with spraypainted "PitBulls for sale" signs. I sign petitions and create them in an effort to educate people about and ultimately save this beloved breed.

It is the temperament of the APBT won my heart, not his bite or newfangled blue buffery. The temperament of this wonderful breed is what is most important to me, and the BYB fiddle farting around to produce "bigger, better, neato colored" APBTs worries me.
Will I still defend these hybrids when cities try to ban them? Of course, they have some of the fiber (however few or many) of a breed I absolutely adore, and I see enough in their pittie smiles and loyal loving eyes. I also defend alleged "pit mixes" who are equally persecuted by BSL, and many don't have a shred of APBT blood in their veins. They are all worthy of a chance in my eyes, provided they are 100% temperamentally sound. I do, however feel spay and neuter should be MANDATORY for these mutt/hybrid dogs and BYB hybridization should come to a screeching stop. Mixing our APBTS around to formulate a bigger/zazzle colored animal is a devil's brew and has no purpose in my fight to save the breed. Do I love a blue? Sure. Do I feel he should be bred back for the purpose of wowing potential clients with his ginormous head and "bigger bite, larger muscle" sales pitch?
Hell to the nah. That's the wrong image getting us in trouble.
That being said, I have seen some very nice blues here, and in no way am I bashing the blue. There are blues very deserving of respect and loyalty- and if that's someone's preference fine, just make darn sure temperament is valued above and beyond all else by a thoroughly knowledgeable and stand up breeder, not the cool and pretty color or head circumference. I like all pitties, but I feel the traditional APBT is where the magic is, and fooling with that can introduce the wrong dog into the genepool when done for the wrong reasons. Trendy color and brutus size/"bite" are the wrong reasons, no contest. All that does is fill the streets with more and more and more sketchy/unstable attitude dogs with equally sketchy/unstable owners, and it makes my fight against BSL harder and harder.
The FIRST step to fighting BSL is knowing the true enemies, the BYB scum who are producing these dogs as images of status and power for snot nosed wannabees- with complete disregard for true APBT temperament. This is the first enemy to recognize and move against, even before you ever start fretting about an ACO knocking on your door with an order to confiscate your animal.
If someone feels they gotta gotta gotta just gotta have an APBT, then they MUST educate themselves, find a darn good breeder who loves and breeds to the standard for all he was meant for [chances are this type of breeder won't make themselves known. It is through total involvement in educating yourself, getting over yourself, and desire to learn that dogmen may arise]. Don't give ANY kennel (BYB or other) with wrong values like trendy new color breeds, wonton aggression, beefcake stature, or a boulder head a red cent. You are paying them to make our breed extinct, and get our dogs taken from us.

The right values surrounding the APBT is what this site is about, so G man (I'm sorry, I have a disability in addressing you as "Gangsta". I don't keep in the habit of associating with gangstas [ers, ettes], and I don't like to think of anyone here that way. May I call you G man in case I ever reply to another one of your posts? You can call me peaknuckle. Or doo doo head if you like) I am glad you are here. There are so many good people with so much VALUABLE knowledge here. I learn something new everytime I sign on. The delivery of this valuable information might not always come sticky sweet hot off the rainbow express with a petunia, but there is usually a reason behind direct and no BS advice. It gets the point across, if you allow it through the preconceived ideas about things you may already have. You are in a place where people are VERY loyal to this breed and history, and they don't dance nicely when it comes to the possibility of someone cheapening their values or the image of this dog. Respect that, and don't take anything personally if you are really here for the right reasons.

The only thing disrespected was the true form of the APBT in the statements you had posted. Sure there are very many breeds and mixed breeds of dogs that fall under BSL guidelines and I'll stand behind all of them..it's not the breed that should have a specific legislation against it..... it should be the owners!
As with APBT and those that claim they have a new generation or new standard.....Like the old saying goes.... you can dress up a pig, but you can't make it dance!

Well dude I just retired in March. So yes I was a lifer. 21 years Would have been longer if I had not took a grenade. You know those right? I never smoked any damn drugs never will. his nor your hand has ever put food in front of me. Unless you were a cook for a Special forces group. Oh never mind we didn't have any thats right only Infantry and rear detachments had that luxury. Learn who I am first then type. Maybe you didn't notice the tags on my car that have retired MSgt or the lisence plate that says disabled Veteran on it. So unless you have three purple hears and some silver stars don't tell me who feed's me. When you earn your CIB then tell me something Mine has stars above it do you know what that is? So while your trying to fill the boots of some one that was before you step it up or shut it up. If he had time to do four years of service and get four years of college then he was either a reserve soldier or he is a liar. Either way the Military training would have cut into his college time at 22 years of age I am going with its a lie. Think what you want but for me I am not about to buy that load of crap. I had to take classes over so many times in the 21 years because when we got orders we left in a hurry. And you don't have time for that stuff in combat. You tell me young soldier. It was joint Special Forces but yes I was Army. We also had Navy and Airforce personel and at times those from other countries. Was that your hunch? I have respect for all that served with me and around me and before me. Also for those that supported us. But I don't owe them anything. Not to say we didn't give each other crap. It was always in fun.
