How can i keep my dog from tearing stuff. Rather she is in her crate or out she still tears stuff up. She gets more then plenty of excercise, kongs, etc. I am running out of solutions on what to do with her. Does anyone have any tips?

ALOT OF THESE DOGS JUST ENJOY BEING DESTRUCTIVE (ITS IN THE BLOOD ;) )

IT IS POSSIBLE WHAT SEEMS LIKE ENOUGH EXCERCISE TO YOU, COULD NOT BE ENOUGH ON HER TERMS - THESE DOGS WERE MADE TO BE LONG WINDED/HAVE HIGH ENDURANCE.

MY INSIDE DOG LOVES TO DESTROY THINGS. SO I GIVE HIM THINGS TO DESTROY LIKE ROPE TOYS W/LARGE BALLS. HE GETS THE SATISFACTION OF HAVING FUN AND DESTROYING THINGS THAT HE IS ALLOWED TO, SO HE LEAVES OTHER ITEMS ALONE. MAKE SURE IT IS SUPERVISED PLAY THOUGH - YOU DONT WANT ANYTHING SWALLOWED.

the tearing up of things... baby proof and have your dog by your side and ofcourse i talk to mine and chase them around to show them what i mean my dogs are great because they learn human and what thier human wants from them. . it doesnt really take alot of time not really its daily communication and they like it.. they understand so much ... i can even answer the phone with dog in tub and they wont get out.. i use crate when i have young ones i cant watch when im busy outside or i tell them nap time and they will go sleep for me to take care of things till im done .. nap over.. i have napped the dogs over the years and boy it works well.. then sleep means all night no questions period .. so communication... always always always using the same words for what you intend.. kennel means kennel , potty means potty.. some people change it n wanna go out used to mean play and now it means go potty you get it .. quiet , stop, hush, shuttup not good.. one word one thing they will get it..

I once had a Border Collie, a real deal working dog. I would go on 4 mile runs with this dog, and she would be off-leash running with me, and running around so she would cover about 10 miles or so on these runs.

Her attitude to these runs? "That was a great warm up, now I'm ready to go". Real deal working dogs (and that includes performance bred Pitbulls) have exercise needs WAY in excess of normal dogs. You might need to buy a good dog mill and put up a spring pole to deal with this problem, and plan your day around the dogs exercise needs. A tired dog is a good dog, and some dogs don't get tired very easy.

And I always like to suggest a large, raw knuckle bone for the dog to exercise her jaws on, Pitbulls love those things.

The "weeine" dog is beautiful! He is having a good time tearing up that rope!
You can buy cheap rope at the feed store and tie knots in it your self. blue likes to squish plastic bottles (with the labels removed, umm like drinking water or soda bottles, not household chemical bottles). She can crunch one up in about two minutes, but it is something we don't care if she tears up...We take them away when she starts getting them into pieces...We take her out in the back yard and give her a few minutes of "flirt-pole" if she is getting antsy in the house. We spenmd a lot of time with her every day, just oh talking to her, petting her sitting on the couch with her for five minutes. Having her sit and stay for a few minutes
If she doesn't get a walk and some flirt pole every day, she bounces off the walls.
If we tire her out, she is good and happy just to play with her toys instead of destroying the house. Try more exercise, like suggested, and several special toys for the dog...maybe an old tire...LOL, that should take him a while to tear up. Maybe he needs a "special" challenge. Although I kinda hestitate about tires as they may be full of chemicals. I was only half serious...Anyone else use any special toys?
