Dear lord my owner says tonght my night,
Let me show-off his hardwork and shine real bright, The odds are against us for my foe has fallen three, I was bred and raised by an honest man and be damned he fall me,

No it hasn't been easy the road here was tough, We came to put all on the line so the hell with picking me up, No I won't falter wear down or even stagger, If he will risk it all for me then i will help him keep his swagger,

For I won't quit until he's done or stands the line, The scratches have totalled eight but mine will make it nine,

How happy I'll be to see the joy in his eyes, Sure there are dogs bigger than me but none with fight my size, Making it this far I have earned my keep, And before the nights over I'll earn my name or I'll earn my sleep,

My foe is a ruff one who seeks to destroy, But my hold is steadfast and starting to annoy, My foe broke hold at the 2:30 mark, Thanks to a great keep I should be swimming with the sharks,

All totalled 3 hours and my foe fell lame, Atlas I have fallen to victorious and DEADGAME.

He may be a large dog, Maybe small,
He will fight one dog or he will fight them all,

He will give you all he has to give,
It's the only way he likes to live,
He has earned the respect of poor men & kings,
He has fought in the open, in the pits and in the ring, He has fought the wolves, the bull and the bear, For his own life he has not a care,

He will not cower, he will not cry,
For to be called a curr, he would rather die, A cur and a fighter are not the same, for a curr is a quitter, and a fighter is game,

We don't force him to fight, he can quit at anytime, But its not a bulldog that stands the line, When we speak of bulldogs the words that fit, are those like courage, stamina and grit,

In the pit he is powerful, fierce and wild, But at home will sleep with the smallest of child, He knows not the meaning of the word quit, he likes it on the chain, but longs for the pit,

The blood of a champion flows in his veins, He can stand the heat, He can stand the pain, If it comes to the scratch, he'll make the run, when he hears his master's cry "go get'em son!".

Some will take you for granted and see profit, but some see you for what you truly are magnificent, loyal, and truly "mans best friend."

I have the second poem printed on my computer, I read it every couple days. The version I have, listed F.B. as the writer? Gotta love the internet huh? lol.

I loved the first one, and had never heard it before. Thanks.
