My first letter to him:
I respectfully disagree with your position on BSL. It is a Band-Aid on a gaping wound. As I am a responsible professional and proud owner of two Pit Bulls, measures such as BSL will and are proving to be ill advised. Try targeting the humans that allow such tragedy, as humans the superior beings, are the ones at fault. Until you can fix this problem, crime as a whole will continue to be an issue for man kind, and quick fixes such as BSL will continue to disillusion the uninformed. Your propaganda is disappointing, I wish you would look at the big picture instead of a popular platform.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

He states in his response he is just an attorney hired to litigate a matter involving home rule legal issues in the confines of the Colorado Constitution during the 2004-2005 timeframe, which happened to involve <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Denver's Pit Bull ordinance. </st1:City></st1:place>He refers me to reference and research material which I will study and tells me to have a nice day, oh and he starts with "To Whom It May Cocern"
My response:
Mr. Nelson,
Please excuse my lapse in manners! Really my mother taught me better than that. My name is MyDawgs. I certainly will investigate your recommended research material and I appreciate your response. My interest in this topic is as you know the all out attack on responsible owners of Pit Bull type dogs. I simply state to group all of us together with those who should not own any type of dog, especially a Pit Bulls is unfair. It appeared to me you were one of these individuals, I hope wrongfully so. It seems Pit Bulls attract the wrong type of dog owner and I assure you those of us that love our Pit Bulls are certainly against irresponsible people owning them along with any other powerful dog that when not trained or properly contained can cause the kind of damage your clients seek refuge from. Please understand we are with you standing against these poorly informed and badly behaved individuals that are behind these horrific dog attacks. The point i s the target should be these people not the extermination of a wonderful breed of dog. You know as well as I that a Mastiff in the wrong hands can cause the same problem. So now I ask you for your understanding and support in targeting the problem not the breed of dog they use to put their neighbors and other innocents at risk. Knowledge is power and responsible people are the answer to this problem. I hope you will join me in supporting the many of us that love and take care of our Pit Bulls in a responsible fashion. Quite frankly we could use the help.
Regards
PS: You have a wonderful day as well.
And now lets see if he is a reasonable man!
