First carper mill

I just got my first carpet mill and I'm wanting to know when is the appropiate time to feed when starting a dog on a mill. I know not to feed before running the dog as the dog can run hot but how long before or after running do you feed? Thanks in advance for any advice. Its very much appreciated.

are you condition the dog or just getting them use to the mill? start out 10-15 minutes then handwalk the dog about 1 mile. then a good rubdown and feed after

Depends what schedule you are on now? Atleast 2 hours prior to running, and a very small portion about 40 minutes after is best...

I plan on doing both but need to get the dogs used to the mill first.

Well right now I feed 3 cups once daily at 7 pm as soon as I get home from work.
