I should be getting my dog within the next few months and want help brainstorming names!!!

Male Dog names I like...basically short easy to say names.

The dog will be a red nose and might be a chocolate color, I am unsure yet.

Trouble = already been used on a previous dog, so cannot use it
Zeke = used on a previus dog

Dog names I have heard that I like

Scorch
chico
gator = overused as i see it.
JINX
KILO
KOSMO
LINK
proton
Drow
Dino
vato
Pyro
ME

I like a darker name, but I dont want it to be too obvious that it is towards the darker side of things

Demon, dragon, Gremlin, Troll are sort of the idea.. you gotta think like D & D ish magical and dark perhaps a Dungeons and Dragons creature...

If you can think of anything and have some feedback, please share it with me !

If I was getting another male today. I would probally name him Greed. I like names that are actually an emotion of some kind. (Envy, Greed, Sin, Passion, Jealousy) whatever JMO, but I would say Greed. Good luck with your new addition. I really like the names Villian and Malachi too.

i usually can't name a pup before i get it, i have to get to know the pup a little before hand. My dog bruno was named on the car ride home while he was sitting in the passenger seat.

Grendel (monster from Beowulf)
Caine
Motley (means "made up of diverse or clashing elements")

How about Nog? My boyfriend's character in D&D was Nog. He was a human barbarian 6' 8'' about 350 lbs. Not real smart, he liked to play with his toes; he killed people that insulted him, but often was not smart enuff to recognize an insult.
Or there is Ivan (shades of Ivan the terrible.)
Drac, short for Dracula.
Bela is a nice Hungarian name...a male name by the way.

ok, i cant really name it something blatent like Lucifer, perhaps troll or something like that , but not anything like lucifer, the reason being is that my job is a "professional" type job and could really cause some problems, + I live in the bible belt and dont want to have to deal with peoples bigotry. I am trying to keep a nice neutral image ;)

as far as the dogs breeding, he is apbt, his mother and father are under 60 lbs

red nose,, heavy on the Lar-San blood if that helps. he has good odds of being chocolate in color

We usually wait until we have them for a few days or so to name them. Ususally, it fits them to a tee. Ours are the Winnie the Pooh theme. Pooh Bear, Tigger, Roo, Honey Pot, and Rabbit.

What kennel did you wind up going with? We have some Lar-San blood in our gang.

Hmmm. How about these ...

Archu (means "hound of slaughter")
Baron (name of a demon - no kidding!)
Brazo (name of a demon)
Bug Bear (an English hobgoblin)
Cerberus (three-headed guard dog to Hell)
Dagon (demon worshipped by of the Philistines)
Darcy (means for "decendant of the dark one")
Diablo (Spanish for "devil")
Dragon
Gryphon (also spelled "griffin" or "griffon")
Gunter (Quenian god of thunder)
Kane-Hekli (Hawaiian spirit of thunder. Could be called Kane for short)
Loki (Norse trickster god, associated w/ thievery, magic & fire)
Odin (chief Norse god)
Pluto (Roman god of the underworld)
Raiden (Japanese god of lightning)
Roc (a mythological giant hawk)
Shoki (Japanse god of exorcism & the afterlife)
Thane
Thor (Norse thunder god & protector of man)
Puck (pixie-like creatures found in English lore)

And my favorite - Boggart (or bogart)! A boggart is a dark & hairy household spirit - the perfect name for any dark colored dog! :D

Loki (Norse trickster god, associated w/ thievery, magic & fire)
Great suggestions! I had a cockatoo named Loki for awhile. That is, until he launched a full fledged airborne attack on my husband and I promptly rehomed him. I researched the name and came up with Norse God of discord, as well as your meaning- and the fit was uncanny.
The bird attacked my husband (from what I remember- I have a sick sense of humor and was having a hard time baring witness through the tears of laughter) by flying into his armpit and locking in (talk about a "locking jaw" no stick on earth can pry apart a cockatoo beak ,lol), flapping his feathers wildly. My husband sprang up from his seat with his arms raised, screaming "Baby! he's got me! he's got me!" and the two of them danced in circles for a moment, feathers flapping and his arms chicken dancing every which way.
The bird lost his interest, and flew to my lap. He looked at my husband and said (no lie) "Hey bay bay bay bay beeeeee", making my stifled giggles a full blown har de har har, and my husband spat profanities and wouldn't speak to me for an hour. I don't blame him, but that S%#@ was funny.

hmm, i wonder how a name like Dragon would stick...
I have been toying with the idea of naming him after a certain class of animal or imaginary creature. so basically a noun naming a thing.

but when i think of it , come here (Dragon, troll, gremlin, drow, mage, )

I do like the name dragon as well as some others, but I just dont know if the name would take and naturally fit.

Any opinions please?

I sent you a message reply on myspace too.
I like....
-Le Stat (After the Vampire)
-Fidellis ( means faithful in Latin)
-Falkor (The dragon from the Neverending Story, looked like a dog to me)
-Smerg (The dragon from The Hobit by Tolken)
-Leviathan ( an evil serpent that was said to serve lucifer from the bible)

I still think Le Stat would be perfect! But dragon is cool too.

I like Magyar (Hungarian) names. But I would because I am a Magyar. What is D&D? this Nog sounds like my half brother. Dumb as a stump.
Vald Drakur
Magyar isn't always easy for englishmen to say the words properly and vise versa. I can understand American English but Welsh and Brittish English I don't understand most of what they say. And I sure as heck can't understand a dang word the Scotts and Irish say. I know they speak english but I can't sypher it. I still can't figure out why the MP's got so mad about me fighting that dude that asked me if I wanted a fag. I was like hell no get lost and he then tried to go on flapping his gums about fags and all that crap. So I punched his nose in. Brittish officer so I didn't get in much trouble as I was in the US Army and he wasn't in my command. But it sure was a mess for a few days till they sent me back to Germany to my unit. Any way.
I like
Lazos
Attila
Janos (John)
Istvan (Steven/Stephan)
Nimrod
Kutya (Dog)
not Magyar names like
Warlord
Hammer head
Thor
Buck
Gus
Sam
Santos
Getum
Mudd
Guido
Snub
Bruno
Bart
Meathead.
This is fun but alas I will stop and see what else pops up.
