I know there are a million threads about food on here but i have searched and not found anything about this brand. The guy i talked to at petco said they just got it and it was supposed to be a very good food. just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this food or knows anything about it. the first ten ingredients are as follows:

1. Chicken
2. chicken meal
3.Whole ground brown rice
4. whole ground barley
5. rye
6. oatmeal
7. chicken fat
8. whole carrots
9. whole sweet potatoes
10. ground flax seed

protein 24% min
fat 14% min

no corn wheat or soy
no by products

any help is greatly appreciated

Overall it seems decent, but there are many better foods on the market

It does have an awful lot of grains in it IMO.

I also don't like these 2 ingredients:
Sea Salt, and Menadione Dimethylpyrimidinol Bisulfite(source of Vitamin K activity)

JMO on it

here is a link to it:

Blue Buffalo is one of those HOLISTIC Foods...which means, pretty much, that its table scraps in kibble form. The rep. that came to PetSmart told me that WE could eat it. I stayed clear. A few of my friends fed it and their dogs got fat....FAST. Its not good for dogs who tend to over eat or have weight gain issues...I don't like it at all to say the least.

when comparing it to canidae chicken and rice it seems to have alot of the same ingredients with chicken being number 1 in blue buffalo and only number 7 or 8 in canidae. i know canidae is a great food but is not available in my area so im just trying to feed my dog the best i can. any other opinions on this food?

my old foster pup mason/arturo his new owner has him on this food, and his coat is gleaming and he is very healthy looking... i think it boils down to what each individual dog does on the foods... some dogs can tolerate better kibble, some cant.

i just want to feed my dog the best food i can. i just switched to blue buffalo from diamond. i couldnt find anything at petco that seemed to have better ingredients than blue buffalo. it was fairly expensive....$40 for 30lb bag, but cost is not really an issue i just want to feed my dog the best food possible.

It seems like a decent food to me. Not the best, but still pretty good. Try it out and see how you like it :)

Best food possible imo-Timberwolf Organics. For that price, the BB kibble sounds like a rip off. You dont need a Timberwolf supplier in your area, because you can get it shipped straight to your door within a few days from their website. For 10 bucks more you are getting a proven food that is guranteed to have a minimum of 48% raw meat in any formula they offer-lets see any other kibble which does that.

If your dead set on this Blue Buffalo, it looks like an average kibble at best. It doesnt have any corn in it, but it also doesnt have very much meat either!

i just did the rating system that has been posted on this site with the ingredients of this food and it scored a 113 or 114 which is rated as an A+ and better than almost all of the foods that were listed including canidae. like i said previously i just began feeding this food, but from the little bit of research that i have done is seems like a very good food. i will let you know how it works out with my dog in the future.

if anyone else has experience with this food it would be great to hear
