My favorite holiday! The 4th of July!

Just wanted to remind everyone that July 4th is the #1 day of every year for lost/found pets. The fireworks and all the crazy commotion drives most animals crazy and they run away, are lost forever, seized by animal control, hit by cars, etc.

The shelters will be flooded.

Last year my friend's dog was hit by a car. One year, one of my dogs went crazy and killed my other dog while I was out celebrating (that may be unusual though).

SO PLEASE BE EXXXXXXXTRA CAREFUL TO KEEP YOUR ANIMALS SECURE!

and have lots of fun with your hotdogs, beer and fabulous fireworks!

yup,,I agree,,the fireworks here start a few weeks before the the 4th,,if I could find the idiots that light em off on a Sunday night when I am trying to sleep they will be sorry,,yeah,,I have a dog that wants to run towards the noise,,he is way faster then me,,I keep him close

WOW I'm sorry to hear that, that had to be horriable to come home to find something like that.

This will be my first 4th with Both of my pups, I had Zoey last 4th but she was Very young so it will be interesting to see how they react.

Lol, I Love Hotdogs, there's something about them on the 4th that makes them seem so much better than they really are, lol.

Fortunately with my loud obnoxious children banging on snare drums, crashing cymbals, playing trumpet or fife in the house and hooking up guitars to amps, my dogs could care less about noise.

Petey howls when the fire trucks end the fireworks show this siren blasts and Birdie hasn't figured out how to howl.

Thunder storms = playtime in my house, so that doesn't bother them either. They go hunting for the indoor kong or tennis ball.

Red is NOT sound sensitive at all. Hobie my wolf dog is. He stays home in the bathroom while Red goes to the 4th of July party with me. She watches the fireworks it's hilarious.

My dogs love to watch the fireworks go off. They run in circles & jump around. Or, do you think it's the booze doin' it to them. LOL!

LOL, My 1yr wedding anniversay is on the 2nd. I figured if we got married close to a big day, my hubby would never forget the date(we'll see how it goes ;) )

My dogs all hate the fireworks, Ozzy freaks and I mean freaks out, even at those little bottle rockets, he hates them. Mercedes and Bentley arent as bad, but I have to keep them in until it s over with. The big sissies, lol

Corona and Lime all the way just for the 4th though, normally I don't drink beer. My dogs have never seen fire works, but I'm going to take Kasha because she could care less about loud noises. My nieghbor has a really loud high pitched street bike she loves it. she practically drags me to it when she sees him drive by on it. She always has to chase it.
