hello everybody
I have a maybe stupid quastion, I got two pits a couple month ago, a Male and a female.
Male's fathers is carver/yellow
And my female is also gamedog, just a differente bloodline.
There is a huge difference in these two, my male is really good dog, to people and other dogs, he's 9 month old. he was breed for game, butt he is really comn, and not agressive to other dogs at all. thats a good thing, I will not use them in mathes. I'm just asking my self how come that could be? I expected a little more from him. Is it the age? Because he's a pup still?
On the other hand I got this girl, she is 8 moths old, and a truely devil on earth! She is friendly to people, but otherdogs she goes CRAZY! And I mean it, she is barking shakking in all here body, her mouth is sheaking to, not to control! how come this difference??
If I walk them both, and they see another dog, she goes crazy, but my boy is just faking it, barking a litle bit, but not meaning it at all.
anybody who can explain why this huge difference??
Thanks a lot.

I would say it's just female genetics and/or hormones. Females tend to be more fiesty than males. Is your female spayed? It could be that you got her spayed after she started developing this behavior. If she isn't spayed then that could be her problem. Males are calm, but don't let him fool ya. They don't give as much warning as other male breeds. Simply wagging their tale is a sign of anxiety. To stop her from going crazy so much will take repetative training, like constantly tapping her on her muzzle and saying "no" in a sharp tone. Try different methods and whatever works, stick with it. Good Luck!

Age, thats all. Some dogs mature quicker than others, I'd say your female has turned-on to other dogs, and your male is taking his time. Dont believe that because he's fine now he will always be, quite the contrary. Some gamedogs dont turn on until close to 3 years old, but 99 % of them will turn-on and become dog-aggressive. A truely cold dog is rare, most just arent given enough time to mature imo.

Thanks a lot,
no my female is not sprayed. I have never seen anything like her before, she has snapped three dogs, much bigger and older than herself. I was thinging, maybe she just want to play, and gave her enough leash to get to the other dog, and she just bited! no quastions asked, she will not play, she wants to fight.
You say he also will turn around? When hes 3 years old? okay than, I have a couple years to enjoy him playing with others than. It's just a problem because, he can play, and she can't.

I also say age is a huge factor. Your dogs true and perminent colors have yet to be revealed... he he he... I'm sure yellow will show-up!
And I have to agree that in ALL my experiences with dog aggro drives, bitches are just that... bitches.
Spaying will help with the bitch. I have noticed a HUGE increase in dog aggro when a bitch goes into heat, she wants to be #1 more than anything. In wolf packs, only on male and female are "allowed" to breed and the bitch will kill any other female who thinks she can get in on the action.
However, spaying won't make her friendly towards other dogs. Buying game-bred dogs like you did from these lines, you should have been prepared and should get prepared NOW. If you bit off more than you can chew, offer these dogs back to the breeder because I am sure your male will soon follow in your bitches footsteps.

Talkin to here and saying NO! Does NOT help. A couple of time I took her close to me, and yalling Bad girl!! Nothings change, she is continuening. Once, I hold her with my arm, and she started bitting me, 2 times! And here mouth is full of, what is called, like spit??
Dont know what to do... When she is in the house, she is the greatest pet ever, she can like you in 10 minuttes in your face if you dont stop here, she is just full of love!

Let him grow into his manhood,,everyone wants these dogs to have a two yr old mentality when they are babies,,give him time,,also,,girls mature faster then boys,,in dogs and in humans,,and stay mature I might add:D

Not a split personality at all. This is normal for many. The foaming of the mouth is when a dog is very excited or "angry". You really need to take control of your situation. I just added to my first post, so go ahead and read that.

Giving them back to the breeder??? You must be crazy! they are my babies, my love ones, what you think? I wiil give them back? Not for a whole world.
I was just trying to find out, what the difference was. Why my male was "faking" it.

Oh, I thought you were complaining/concerned about the bitch. Yeah, I'm sure the male will be right along shortly. Just can't stress enough how careful you have to be owning dogs with that degree of intensity.

no no no, I'm not saying he will become dog-aggressive at 3 years of age, he probably will much sooner. I just said some dogs dont until then to prove a point, that even though he is fine for years, he could grow out of the puppy stage at any time. I would say the "norm" for gamebred dogs to turn on is around 15-18 months before they really decide they want it. Some sooner (as your experiencing) and some older. Prepare for it today, and be thankful for everyday you get until that happens.
For your female, thats typical. Bulldogs dont tend to show alot of signs, and they are easy to be misread when they do. Whinning like she wants to play, and the tail going crazy is natural, to a bulldog fighting IS playing. If you've never witnessed two bulldogs fighting it might suprise you, little to no noise at all, tails in the air going 100 miles an hour. Snarling, growling and raising the hair is done by dogs to intimidate the other dog into NOT fighting, you can see why bulldogs dont do this. LOL

Also just because youre male is quiet & appers to be calm dont mean you dont have to watch him closely around other dogs. Alot of males are so confident thay seem cold. Not ''ALL'' gamedogs screem to get to other dogs.Hell some forget thay are pitbulls untill thay get bit, then it all comes back to them in a hurry. When youre dog is playing with other dogs you MUST watch for domminating behavior. My dog is vary socilized and gets along with 90persent of all dogs male and female but if a male is showing dominate behavior twards him or refuses to be dominated by him WATCHOUT! It can turn ugly quick. Also he is only 2 years old and may have not "turned on'' fully as of yet. I will always take extreeme caution when letting him play with other dogs and at some point may have to stop letting him play with other dogs all together

just because your male is gamebreed dosen't mean it's game to where your female sounds to be coming along,,,, but a female is alot more aggressive than most males in my experiences and i,ve had them for 20 plus years,,, but put your male in a position to where he feels threatened and you'll see his side,,, but a male is usally laid back to a degree to where a female will let it all hang out,,,explains why i have 5 females and one male,,, not to breed,,, either. i got one female that will groundcheck whatever gets between me and her,,, strickly supervised,,, and my responsibity to make sure theres no chance for her to get loose,,but she,s my princess and god forbid something gets in her way,,,i tell my wife she's my getter,,,http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d16/ghost8989/IM000601.jpg (http://s32.photobucket.com/albums/d16/ghost8989/?)

ummm, I wouldn't say a couple of years to play.
I'd be watching him like a hawk, right now....
