She just recently within this week started barking at things as well like nieghborhood cats. She will also bark for things like my husband if she can see him but can't get to him. Well any ways the point is she all of a sudden become very vocal. then yesterday on the way home from work it rained and so I turned on my windshield whipers (naturaly). And Kasha went nuts! She smashed her nose into the windshield of my car and started barking and growling. So I turned the whipers off and she stoped and watched atentively to see if they would attack again. I say attack because IMO I think she was protecting me from the unknown thingies attacking the windshield of my car. That's my best guess. Why the heck does she do this last week she just sat there and watched them like a hawk???

how old is she? in my one book they talk about "fear stages" at different ages, maybe its aggression...and i use that very lightly...out of fear? pepper had an experience with a cop at 7 weeks...right before her 8-10 week fear stage and when he came creeping up to the car window with flashlight she went bezerk!! my mom said it sounded like a full grown dog!! lmao! she was grwoling and barking and all the hair on her neck stood up....but as soon as she seen it was a person and he was near enough for her, she relaxed. she is not HA at all so this was shocking, considering my mom is a cop, she has seen people in uniform since and has been fine! :) good luck, i am sure it is a phase if she is young enough!!

i don't think it is fear. I think your pup just has a high prey drive and is active, wants to play, ect. Barking is how dogs communicate. Simple training to let her know what behavor is acceptable should help.

all my dogs bark at cats and such. the wiper deal is funny. But it isn't abnormal for a dog to spaz on that. I have one that attacks the water comming out of the hose. It is a riot when I turn a sprinkler on. Just correct the pup and go on. It would make a funny video though.lol

I will make a video and post it with utube like Marty's yard videos! Thank you for the reasurance. She's a hoot!!! I guess her prey drive just kicked into gear cause she is alot more attentive to quickly moving objects now. (She'll turn 1yr on the 15th of this month). I'll try to get that video up as soon as I can.

My pup growls and barks at everything. He's been acting this way since he's been about 2 1/2 months old. He growls and barks at every animal he sees. I started taking him out for walks and he barks at everybody he lays eyes on. He has this hilarious head shake when he starts going off barking. I just correct him everytime he starts growling, I try to correct him before the barking starts. I took him to his first obedience group and right away, he went after this huge lab. I corrected him and after that he calmed down. I just keep working with him to try and correct the behaviour.

I dont think its anything to worry about. Your pups reactions may simply be that way because she has never been under such conditions. Once they get used to rain or whatever, they will calm down. My dog used to hate car rides and would try to climb on my lap while im driving. Remember that dogs ears are a lot more sensitive than ours so any noise such as freeway driving or even rain may cause them to feel as if theyre endangered. After about 5-6 times in the car, my dog adapted and just sits in the backseat

Nothing to worry about. Red used to do this also, my ex thought it was funny until she hit the windshield so hard she cracked it and we had to pay to replace it. Good thing my dad owns his own auto glass business. Still cost us $200. When we split, I bought her a roadie harness for the car and everytime she'd go after them would tell her "Fuey Estas" firmly. She quit after a week but every time they are turned on she will chase them. Also IF I give the OK she trys and gets them.

Why the heck does she do this last week she just sat there and watched them like a hawk???My pup started the barking thing around 12 weeks , you would take him outside and he would bark at everything , people passing by,, dogs ,, noises. He is now a little over 5 months & I starting walking him on a route where there are many people & dogs passing us and he he is a 100 % better, if I see any sign that he is going to bark I give him a lil tug on the lead and he is fine even when passing by other dogs. Now,, when on his turf with other dogs, well thats another story, we were walking down the driveway the day before yesterday and he came nose to nose with what looked like a black lab mix and man, he wanted a piece of him big time,, this is the first time I seen the power in this little guy and he,s only a baby,,lol WOW. I,m pretty sure if he was able to get at him there would of been some ass whooping going on,,which I DON,T WANT, but I must say he surprised me with his strength.

She should snif at them, let she go near to them talk to her all the time and I think at least she will understand. My dog spike turns nut if he sees another dog or cat. A few weeks ago he crashed with his head in the front window(car) and now I had to buy a new(110 euro).....I have to deal with that but the whiper thing shouldnt be a problem...good luck!

Thank you for all the advice! I don't think she can break my windshield though I have a older Camaro that I drive her around in and that glass is thick!

I would make her sit in the back,,is she thinks this is acceptable behavior u will have a hard time taking her anywhere,,could be a driving hazard. She won't stop on her own

The windshield that Red broke was in a 1966 Ford Falcon. Believe me the glass isn't that thick.
