pimple on my puppies private parts

I was playing with my 10 week old pup today and noticed he had what looks like a pimple filled puse on his penis. I was wondering what could cause this. I feed him Chicken Soup for the puppy lovers soul.

it might be a rash of some sort I fostered a male APBT that had this problem. He just had really sensitive skin (He was a fawn APBT). We took him to the vet and the vet gave us a perscription for us to give him to get rid of it. he'd get it about once every month or so and we'd just give him his meds. and it would go away. Check with your vet if it seems to be irritating to the pup or starts to spread. You can take him any ways if your really worried. Knowing myself I would. Sorry the pic is so big...

did the pup get into cat food by chance? alot of dogs can't digest cat food and when they pee or take a poop they can iritate themselfs.and cause a infection,or it could just be a bug bite.but if in doubt take the pup to the vet.

pepper had a nasty pusfilled thing on her belly, the vet said it was an infected hair folicle from being shaved for sx, and it popped on its own and is a little scab now.

Just a question. Was the greenish discharge coming from the penis iteself (the sheath)? Or is there actually a pus filled pimple on the underbelly?

He was the sweetest boy so sweet in fact that he only spent a month with us. He is now happy in his new forever home.

Cute puppy. Red got the same rash type thing after she was spayed. I got some stuff called Super Green from the vet and it went away in a couple days. I wouldn't worry too much but if it doesn't go away in a week or so tkae her to the vet.

Vet said they sometimes get it, compared it to teenage acne,,lmao, I,ve never heard of it in dogs. Cost me a trip to the vet and some dollars to be told my dog had zits,,lmao,, live and learn.

It could be nothing. It could be that your pup got into ants, got bit by another type of bug, or it could be that he's got a staph infection (usually there is more than 1 pustule though). However, that area is not an area where a dog usually develops acne so I wouldn't consider that the cause.

I know exactly what is going on and I am willing to make a bet this will take care of it. I have a 12 week old baby pit and he had the same thing. THey have really sensitive skin and it is from their urine. When they potty it does not drip off and they dont shake or clean themselves very well. So here is the fix the hairs on the penis need to be trimmed, then keep the area clean with baby wipes. I wipe him down when he comes in from peeing.For the existing bumps at bed time I clean with peroxide and apply a tiny amount of neosporin by morning you will be able to tell a huge difference. My vet said they can give them an antibiotic but it is best to take care of it this way if at all possible. Hope this helps good luck.
