I was wondering if anybody knew what would be considered the average wieght of a pit from the colby line. I have looked at the pics of this line from the early days and the wieght seems to be all over the board. up to probably 60 pounds.

Go to stillwater kennels. They have nice Colbly dogs.

Average is 35-50 lbs.
I have seen a big one or a little one come out every now and then.
The tighter you breed them the more consistant the wts will be, in my opinion. But when breeding Colby dogs real tight, you see some strange stuff, like Natural bob tails and screw tails.
I would say 35-50 is about right. Avery good friend of mine runs strictly Colbys, (has been for 25+ years), and this range sounds like the "average".
