Which dog has the upper advantage over the other, I was having a discussion with my buddy and he seems to think that his AB has a huge advantage over my dog because of his size/stature, are APBT equipped to have a upper edge over a dog so much bigger, just curious of your thoughts

the old school 40-60lber american pit bull dogs from the 70s would of had a chance against the well bred apbt but today i would doubt they do
The APBT bred in a pure form is known for gameness and you don't find that in other breeds. Most other breeds dish some damage but as soon as it is taking damage they scream and jump trying to escape. There have been historical fights with mixed breeds but it never fails that if the APBT is game enough and gives the other dog (even larger animals) a taste of its own medicine the other animal will quit and scream opera. That is why in a historical context APBT were always faced against APBT. It was unfair to put an APBT against a cur dog. I think this is what you were looking for. Remember that animal aggression is NOT gameness. It is normal for bulldog breeds to show animal aggression and high prey drive. APBT are very unique in their gameness.

the ab used to be called americans by steet hoods is that a an american lol u know, but i think the apbt is the best dog over all and sometimes a punishing big dog can best another dog lets no forget abs were match dogs.but in the 8 times out of ten the apbt will win fax>

yeah but dont get the misconception that evey single APBT will win especially if there is a signifacantly big weight difference in the AB.

A Am bulldog that weighs 100lbs. may come out whipping all kinds of ass for 5 min. on a pit that weighs 50lbs. but what about 20-30 min. into it, or 1hr. into, that's were the gameness plays a big part.;)

B answered this thread well, and added a great opinion which I agree with. I'm going to close this down before it gets too controversial. Thank you.
