Good-if done properly you will produce a tight family of dogs who possess similar charectoristics and qualities. Also, you further increase your chances of great pups inbreeding around a proven producer of winners.

Bad-it shrinks the gene pool, and all defects in the line will slowly come out if new blood is not brought in at certain times. Meaning, after 3-4 generations of inbreeding you may notice problems in your dog that probably wouldnt have arose if you wouldnt of been inbreeding. Does this mean inbreeding creates problems or unstable dogs? No. It means inbreeding simply multiplies both the good and the bad that are already in the line. You need to cull hard, and know when to outcross, but inbreeding is a successful breeding tool if done correctly.

Let me make up an example, and you tell me if its line or inbreeding? I need to know if its OK or not. I need a comfort level whether to buy or not.

Sires ped:

3rd gen say is (making this up) 'snake (POR)' x ruby' and the dam on the 3rd gen within still the Sires ped is 'snake (POR)' x dolly'.

Dams ped:

3rd gen is 'snake (POR)' x 'ruby'.

Judging on this ped, 'snake (POR)' appears 3x total within the 3rd gen on both sire and dam. Would this be line or in
