Mulberry Considers Banning Pit Bulls

MULBERRY, Ark. -- The threat of vicious dogs might soon be eliminated if
local leaders get their way.

Officials in Mulberry said they're working on a proposal to ban pit
bulls. The move is due in part to a recent incident in which a resident was
trapped in the back of his truck by a pit bull.

Officials said that in the event they encounter a dog that exhibits
signs of fierce behavior, they will step in.

They said the owner would then be notified, and the animal would be
confined to a specific area under the new proposal.
