got me wondering ???

I was talking to a guy today, when he seen my boy Sammy he told me
he is deffinetly an Amstaff, I said no way,, he,s a pit,, he is supposed to know his dogs ,,they say??? Alot of you guys and gals have seen pics of my boy,, what do you guys think?? he kinda has me wondering now, this is my first dog of this breed and I myself can,t tell the difference between a Staff and a pit. There are pics of him in my Gallery,,, Thanks :)

Why does it matter as long as you love the dog and if you don't have papers it shouldn't matter what he is called just fix him and love him.

I think it looks like a pit to me but im no expert and i think it is far to young to get a real good idea any way. but it is a very cute pup none the less. There are tons of people who have no clue about are breed thinking they are experts. try not to let it get to you.

Way to young to tell! For me, the biggest difference between an AmStaff and a Pit is the temperament and all-around attitude of the dog, not the conformation. People shouldn't make judgements without papers or an extensive knowledge of the breeds. Floyd Boudreaux has room to talk, not this guy.

I agree,, and would not matter if we were told he was a beagle,, too late,, we love him to peices now, it,s like he,s been in the family for years,, even hogs my spot in the bed next to my better half,,lol.

that is not an insult however. if someone calls your dog a staff....and you're not sure exactly how he was bred and for what purpose....it shouldn't be taken as an insult. if you're not speaking to an AKC fanatic....any pitbull that was created/bred for looks, color, conformation, or any purpose other than to carry on the game gene for very specific reasons....is considered an AmStaff.
