Hello.:)

After browsing through a few forums on here ive come across this term more then a few times ( pretty amusing ) and im just curious to know what really classifies a pitbull as a petbull. Are all house dogs considered to be petbulls? I dont want to get into what the true meaning of gameness is because this topic has already been discussed.Im just looking for some clarification on this subject.Ty.

a PET-bull is just that. A pet. A dog that does absolutely NOTHING. The ones that sit on the couch all day and night and MAY get 30 minutes of exercise. I consider a pet-bull a dog that just eats, sleeps, and takes a shit.

These dogs need JOBS to do..!!

These dogs need JOBS to do..!!I agree with everything you have said except the absolutely nothing part....both my pet bulls train with me in the morning and the evening. I train in the morning by running 4-5 miles my dogs come with me and love it. In the evening we train Obediance, the mental stimulation makes them more weary than the physical stim. In the end I have dogs that are in great shape and behave fairly well in public, I enjoy it and so do they, their job is to respect me as their pack leader and accept all the love our family sends their way....both my pet bulls. My goal is to be able to get a CGC for my girl, my boy is happy just being a pet, smartest dog I have ever had the pleasure to own.....

Lets try to avoid that slippery slope...pet bull vs game dog, working dog vs non, isn't the onslaught of negativity from the rest of the world enough for this community to take on, or are you intent on dividing the pit bull community from within as well......it is ashame I suppose.

Actually the slippery slope was avoided. I believe you actually read into my post a little too much and maybe took a slight offense to it. You run with yoru dogs at least 4-5 miles a day right? You do obediance right? Well you work your dog so this post did not apply to you or anyone who actually DOES THINGS with their dog. My first comment was more toward people who do NOTHING with their dogs. I mean not even a 30 minute walk. Haven't your heard of or know people who just have a dog that they feed and let out when they need to and then the dog is RIGHT BACK in the house. Then there is the person who keeps their dog on a chain day and night and does NOTHING with the dog at all. THe dog just sits on the chain and thats its life. These are the types of people I'm talking about..

Don't be so quick to feel offended.

Takes a WHOLE lot more than what you wrote to offend me....none taken.

Don't hide behind hidden meanings and lack of words? Bred for in what century? Stay within the boundries of Martys rules.

My message is a simple one...be careful not to build barriers between fellow pit advacates, try unmercifully to bridge gaps. I agree w/ Xx, I don't like anyone who leaves any dog on a chain 24/7, the dog deserves a better life.....help those who do this to pit bulls, educate - motivate, we are all we have against a world that is trying to eliminate the pit bull....there are no enemies in a fox hole, choose your words and messages wisely, and stick together to defeat our enemies, we are not each other enemies, we should be each other allies. Now Xx if you want to know what offends me, it someone trying to kill my dogs...not you.

Not being sensitive, and let me appeal to your sense of maturity...with responses like yours perhaps you should be hiding because it implies something that is illegal in 50 states. Being a grown man you should be able to comprehend the unwanted implications of a statement such as yours by the administrators of this site. As far as your personal beliefs they are yours and I respect that. Today the reasons for breeding these dogs is being altered simply because of the reality of a growing prejiduce of the pit bull and what it historically was bred for, lets not feed that fire.....be wise and follow your own heart when comes to breeding and raising your dogs as is your right as an American..

Peace

listen to yourself, nothing I wrote implies anything because these dogs has been around for hundreds of years and they have not been kept a secret, even on this site when someone start talking about their blues people go crazy because they say they're not being bred to standard, and part of this standard is gameness.I spoke of nothing illegal,I was jumped on once before for nothing,I think I said WAS HE A GOOD ONE,but someone came to my defense.well to show my maturity this subject is over and also crazy. Not being sensitive, and let me appeal to your sense of maturity...with responses like yours perhaps you should be hiding because it implies something that is illegal in 50 states. I concede then....the line is fuzzy after he long post on dog fighting discussion, I never said any rule was broken just that the inference was if it's not pet bull it might be close to that fuzzy line we've been told to stay away from, my apologies.
