http://www.game-dog.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5778&stc=1&thumb=1 (http://www.game-dog.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5778) Bandits 2nd recheck after the dog incident went ok. His neck is healing really well, but we are still worried about his leg. Looking at this pic, it would be the right leg and he favors it, even lying down. Vet gave me another 30 day suply of Keflex to help with Osteomylitis. I sure hope it gets well. I would hate to have to remove his leg. Would appreciate any advice from someone who might have had this experience or knowledge on the subject.

Ask for a rx of zenequin (sp?) if you are concerned with or about a bone inffection.

My vet says Keflex is the way to go, that you can only treat it with antibiotics. What is Zenequin? Did you mean Levaquin?

Is this a soft tissue or a bone infection?

This is bone in lower leg. Puncture wound from both sides. No mucsle there, just bone covering that has been penitrated and swelling. Using Keflex 3 times a day and hot pacs once a day.
