To get a litter registered with those two groups, both parents must be registered with a respected registry. Are the parents registered with anyone/and if so,who?

Without being registered in another reputable registry...no serious registry will just accept your dog based on looks and your word.
Some bullshit registries will let you send in a couple pics, and have a vet o'k that it is probably a "APBT" and you can get some fake "papers".
The point of a registry is to trace the pedigree and history, if you cant do that-why get papers on the dog?
If you can trace the pedigree back, its just not registered, why worry about it? As long as you know how the dog is bred, sending 75 bucks into a stamping company isnt going to make it any more "right"!

In that case, yes-if you plan on competing than having the dog registered with them is a must. You can do "limited registration" in most registries so even if they wont register your dog, you can still compete with them ;)
And no, I have the pedigrees on my dogs, and they could be registered but I choose not to do so.....for my own personal reasons.
