Every one needs to read what Barney Fifes opinion of the Lonzo dogs are. He had the best, and still couldn't compete.

Low percentage dogs, but the good one are nice, just not very many around.

lol, you know what they say about opinions Stillwater! ;)

You can read BF's stuff & some agree w/ it while others don't. It's just one man's opinion about his experince w/ the line. But I've found several statements in the BF article to be inaccurate.

For example, his assertion that serious modern day fanciers can't win w/ the Zebo line. I'm sure the owner of CH. Sinful Sister, the Zebo throwback destroyer would most certainly not agree w/ BF's opening statements! Nor would the owner's of Newburn's Buck, a 2xw who lost DG going for his CH. Then there's CH. Buba, GR.CH. Harley, GR.CH. Speedy, GR.CH. Buckshot, Thistle 2xw, Bucky 2xw, Red Bomb 1xw, Gimp 1xw ... all Lonzo or Lonzo crosses. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.

BF also says Zebo dogs can't come in red or white, that it is a genetic impossibility to do so. Another falsehood. Zebo himself was black, but red & white are simple recessives that can be carried within a line. Once you start linebreeding/inbreeding they will come out.

So right there in the first two paragraph's of BF's article we find two falsehoods. I don't think the man was lying, I think he honestly believed what he said. But they doesn't change the fact that those two statements (among others) are inaccurate. As such, anything else BF has to say here should be considered carefully before taking it as the gospel truth.

Now I will agree there are a lot of junk Lonzo dogs out there. %s can be low & may be getting lower since a lot of ppl are obtaning Lonzo stock for the name or to breed/own a "short-stack." But if you get a good one, many times they are above average animals.

Like any line, if you want a good Lonzo dog you have to go to a source that has been testing their stock. Then you can have success. But if you don't go to a breeders who is testing their stock, all you will get is a short, stubby dog that can't go 30 mins.

I guess what it boils down to is work w/ what you like & get it from a source that is using it. All lines throw good as well as bad. BF had bad luck, but others have not.

JMHO ...

abk and i are very simiular in this subject.U have to have good lonzo dogs to make good lonzo dogs to make good percentages and the lonzo line of to day consist of Vindinacator 2xw/zebo/lonzo's Mike 2xw but even more recent lonzos danger is the main dog in most of the recsent lonzo dogs my favorite even closer is lonzos snake 1xw and lonzo's zebo 2 and lonzo's snow ball to have these dogs in the first four generatoins are usally above avarage dogs and as for luinski dogs being better i would say depends on the dog as i have seen luinski dogs have a shit load of lonzo in it anyways and lets not forget lonzo breed zebo and im sure his lonzo dogs are btter then any other zebo dogs imo
