I just got a heavy bred six bits female. I was wondering if i should tighten up the six bits a little bit more or outcross. The reason i was gonna tighten it was because i want to base my yard with this blood. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you are basing your yard off of six bits then why outcross it. I'm assuming that you are just getting started with your yard so the best advise I could give you is to do a lil more research on the game and the blood that you have chosen to work with.

I think the best way to know more about this breed is simply to just get a lot of dogs.
With more dogs many thing look totally different. It's much easier to be objective. This is something which is very hard to understand with fewer dogs.

You could go into a Zebo dog or a Nigger toby dog depending on what you want. FYI Ive read more than a few times that Floyd B. says Zebo was a Eli dog. Why do you want to tighten up the Six Bits stuff?? its pretty tight IMO. For an outcross a Bolio or Snooty bred dog could work IMO.

HHHMMMMM it all depends on your goals or what you are trying to accomplish in your breeding program. Usually a breeder will cross out because there line lacks something or because they are inbreeding too tight and need some hybrid vigor. If that Sixbits female has nothing to be desired then I would breed her back into a line bred Sixbits male. But if she lacks something I would go into another Eli blood from different branch like Art,Rascal,Nigerino,Cardenas,Boudreaux,Dutchboy,an d Eli3 etc....

can't see the ped post the parents and grand sires/dams and i may be able to help you. in a good directon to go with. As far as heavy toby sure it's a way to go most likely you have black smoke, or little bit in your ped (toby x rose II -littemate to maverick)so it wont be much of a cross as it would be more of tightening up on that existing blood.

I agree with Ja-net if you like what you have tighten up. If you feel it is starting to lack something breed out.

I am the owner of that female. That was actually my old screenname. I ended up breeding her a little over a year ago. Her father is six bits and her mother is classy lady by way of eli's shadow and clemmons gloria. I ended up breeding her to her brother yogi bear(six bits x clemmons flea).
