Is there any way to tell how old a dog is?

The vet can better help you there I believe. I think you can tell somewhat by their teeth, but I wouldn't know what you would look for.

All I know is around 4 months they lose their "baby" teeth.

yup, checking their teeth, if not sure, is the most common way...

yeah always check the teeth they dont lie on the dogs age.
