i know that there are many who look down upon the new bully breeds, why is this? once, there was a time that the apbt was not recognized as a breed. do many of you think that it will not be good if this "bully breed" grows into something new? will it not be good for the future of the pitbull?

I would be delighted if "bully pitbulls" got their own recognition-as a seperate breed. I do not dislike the dogs, I dislike people exploiting the dogs for their looks. I dislike people breeding genetically flawed dogs to produce "rare" genetically flawed mutts to make $5000 a pup. I know of a few of these dogs that are wonderful pets, but they are not APBT's by far, and I refuse to call them that. APBT is a working breed, bred to a strict standard and kept to performance breedings historically, to change to that and breed dogs away from the standard for looks only creates a seperate distinct breed. The fathers of the Amstaff breed understood that, unfortunately with these "bully" dogs now-days the reason for the majority of people wanting them is to tell people the blue 110 lb. cropped ear mutt dragging them down the street and snarling at people and dogs alike is a "pure bread pitt".
I see absolutely no need to change the breed, especially not to fit to such a unhealthy standard. It is a case of taking a breed, mixing in other breeds, breeding freak monsters to freak monsters for selective traits and yet hanging onto the "pit" name to boost their own ego.
If someone does step forward and create a seperate registry for these dogs, and they were referred to as anything but a "pit" all the time, than I will have no problem with the "bully" style if the dogs are not being bred to be extremely unhealthy.
As for being good for the future of the pitbull:They usually arent pitbulls at all, so their future should have nothing to do with the future of our dogs. Sadly, yet again however, people love to hang onto the "pit" and tell people their "bullies" are "pitts" so they will be lumped into the same group as us.
