Hey how is everyone doing?..my male pit he is 4.1months old..So my my question is that when I put him in the backyard for him to use the bathroom he starts eating things like grass, mud, sticks, twigs all sorts of things he can find on the grass??And this aggravates me so much I get so mad so when I take him in the backyard I have to go with him on a leash and i dont like that, and I correct him everytime he eats something, but it kinda seem's, hes doesnt pay attention to me because as soon as I turn my back there he goes again eating things again..So is there anything i can do to stop this??This gets me really angry,I say no and then 5sec. later he's eating garbage again??Any Suggestion??Thanks

The stuff he is chewing on is only garbage in your eyes, but its all natural fibre in the eyes of animals. Sometimes, animals will eat stuff like this because their diet is lacking in some way. Or some just like it LOL
That is, unless, he really is chewing garbage like wrappers and such. Then, removing the garbage from your yard is the best way to stop this.
Are you sure he's eating it? Or is he just chewing it and spitting it out? A pup of his age is teething so he might be trying to relieve his gums.

He is Only Teething. Poor Dog Needs Something Solid To Scrape His Gums Against. He May Be Lacking Something As Far As Nutrition. Maybe Your Dog Is Simply Insane. ??? Either Way Dont Blame The Poor Dog. He Is Doing What Needs To Be Done. Rw.

ALOT of times,,as it was said,,they eat things for nutrients that they are lacking in theur diet. Especially with grass and dirt. i've got one that's 1 1/2 year old, and still eats grass occasionally. don't be freakin out. let him eat the stuff. watch the twigs and sticks as he gets older. that's the only one that could affect him in any way. alot of times i can throw a stick and will only get a small part of it back. and that can cause a blockage if they got carried away.

Dogs will eat grass to help settle thier stomach, its not completly digestable.

The grass here really screws up my dogs' stomachs. I wouldn't condone grazing, especially if their play area, or where they graze is the same place that they pee and poop in. That's a health problem waiting to happen in my eyes. Then again, I moved into an area already infested with Coccidia...so maybe I'm paranoid now.

My pup chews on alot of things. I just pick up whatever it is & I throw it in the trash. No big thing, thier pups.

I've taken a gym rag (just a small hand towel), soaked it in chicken broth, and toss it in the freezer. It's very easy for pups to chew on and they'll go for it before goin for your wallet. hope this helps.

You need to enroll in a puppy class. These questions will all be answered in a quick 1 hour a week, 8 week course. Check your local animal rescue centers for info or training centers in your area, i'd say petsmart as a last resort.

just keep on working with the pup he's only 4 months old so he's still real young. if you stay consistant with it he can be a well trained dog buy 8 months old.
