I have a pit pup at 10 months. i really love him but i am getting huge pressure in san francisco to neuter him. does neutering really curb dog aggression in pits? i've seen a 40 lb. red bitch that was fixed at 3 months old and is 2 years old now. the's got so much game that i seem to believe that neutering/spaying doesn't curb aggression at all. also, i seem to not be able to post pictures or an avatar onto this web site b/c i can't get a menu to upload my avatar. any clues? thanks all for your time.

Typically neutering will not "cure" dog aggression. But what it will do (towards attitude/temperament) will take away the sexual aggression/tension towards other males & many times females. Besides, didn't S.F. make it a law that all "pit bull" have to be spayed/neutered?

Also, neutering him has many, many positive health benefits. And there is absolutely NOTHING wrong in owning a neutered animal. Although I had a lot of plans for this dog, I had to have him neutered (severe recurring demodex & ended up being a cryptorchid--1 testicle never dropped) & yet he NEVER gained weight & never lost his "never quit" attitude:
