I talked to Dr. Pam Parnell at Clemson concerning the autopsy and found out something new. Seems Indy Girl, being a Blue Pit had a problem fighting off infections. Her small intestines had an infection that her body could not fight and she was starving to death. This would not have been found if I had not taken the whole body to her. Seems everthing works out for a reason and something told me to carry her up there. This eases my heart alot and I feel much better about her going. Indy Girl's vet had mentioned this about Blue Pits but it never crossed my mind. Learn something new everyday! Now I got to go eat-crow with Diamond Dog Food cause I did get upset.

IndyGirl'sMom~Diamond dog food was to blame for many deaths in the dog world. Way too many. The final diagnosis of Indy could be the inability to fight off infection, but the Diamond may have caused the infection. Blue colored pits are prone to many inherited disfunctions, such as demodectic mange, skin allergies, food allergies, etc. Though she is blue, and had trouble fighting infection, I wouldn't be so quick to let Diamond off the hook. I am very sorry for your loss, as I was almost one of the unfortunate. I saw the warnings posted on all the boards I frequented, but failed to read them. I finally decided to see what was up, and my dogs had been eating the contaminated food for 3 days. I was lucky and did not lose any dogs, but I feel so bad for the many that did.....

RIP Indy Girl~*God Speed To Rainbow Bridge*
