I got my 1 year old pit Jack, 6 months ago. He has been a great dog, up until recently. He has started getting more aggressive with my 2 year old Golden and snaps at my 7 year old brother. Sicne I still live at home, my parents are making me get rid of him. Alothough I do not want to, I must. My first question is, is there anything I can do to stop him from snapping? And my second question is, does anyone know a great rescue center where I can place him or would anyone consider taking him in?

It is 100% normal, and is to be expected with a pitbull type dog to be dog-aggressive. They have been bred to fight other creatures for too long for it to change over night. Snapping at your brother however....is not acceptable. I am willing to bet however it is not a tempermant problem, but more likely a way the dog was raised.

Sounds like Jack is a good dog don`t you have a friend that can take care of him for you? In any case I wish you luck but please just don`t give him to anyone. What do you think is the best thing to do because he really is a good dog, its just that when he comes into the room jack growls

no because all of my friends already have dogs and they live in bad areas where pit bull fighting goes on. I'm not going to give him to just anyone if i have to. I'm going to give him to someone who has the best knowledge on how to deal with dogs with this problem and has the time and patience to do so. But like I asked in my first post...do you know any rescues or places like that?
