I am new here

i found this site from the site owner when he came to another forum i belong too.. my name is maryellen, and i am from nj. i have been involved in pit bull rescue for the past 4 years, when i adopted my pit mix Rufus. since adopting him i have read and read and read some more about the history of the breed.. i am involved in fighting BSL in nj, and in consulting with other pit bull owners who have training problems, and i also do therapy work with my boy Rufus. we visit the local hospital every saturday, and we are changing people's minds one person at a time.. i also have a german shepherd and a rottie in addition to rufus.. so yeah, my house is bsl in the making.. having 3 power breeds has made me well aware of how dogs should act in public.. my rottie who is 10 is also certified as a therapy dog.. my gsd is a genetically screwed up mess, with food and air allergies, and is nervy as well.. i am currently fostering a husky/mal mix for husky rescue, as i take in the psycho pups that no one can handle.. i very rarely get pups that are easy.. i am a total sucker for the underdog.. i also know nothing about breeding. i do however feel that the proper breeders should be allowed to breed only.. not the byb breeders.. this breed is in such dire straits that i cant see anyone breeding right now, but that is just my personal opinion since i have been in rescue..
