apbt house dog, or any ol house dog. if apbt, than i do feel it has all the potential and ability to compete against a game dog. it just depends on the conditioning and game in the dog. remember, as long as the apbt is an apbt it has the ability. I had a family house apbt "show dog, show lines" that never fought before, and he had an "accedent" with a friends game line dog and he did very well. But of course that was and will be the last show type i ever own. I am game to the core.

LMAO....just because its a housedog doesn't mean it's fat and lazy and doesn't have the ability to work, so to speak. you would need just as much time with a house dog as you would an outside dog conditioning wise, keeping in mind every dog is different and you condition them to there needs. Plus, i'm confusing on the compete thing too..compete for what, show? weight pull? what are you talking about?

i don't understand, why do you think that a housedog might not have the same chance as an outside dog? heres one of my house dogs on her springpole...note, she refuses to stay on the groud, although it's set up where her back legs can touch, she won't have it...

If it's game bred, and it's game, it can live in a Ritz Carlton penthouse suite and still compete. If it's in shape that is.

where the dog live doesnt have any bearing on what it can do.... A House dog is a dog that is not used in your program it's the family pet over the working dogs... by the owners choice.

I would also have to say the gamest dog I have ever seen was a house dog. Dog is still around in Brooklyn, NY. 12 years old now. The dog is spoke about like a legend, by those who know him.

Not only was the GAMEST dog I ever seen a house dog, but it was great with children and small animals like kittens and dogs.
But if ANYTHING ever showed aggression, he was an absolute ACE.
Not many around like that these days.

Hey Stillwater, are you sure we aren't talking about the same dog? lol
But seriously, most really game dogs show these traits. Non aggressive, people and kid friendly, great attitude and temperment. Some folks think gameness = aggression. I know different. :)

I know this is not gameness but... You said an absolute ace huh. Would an absolute ace completely destroy a dog twice his size. Literally twice his size. He weighed 55 lbs. The rott weighed at least, at least 120. And when I say destroy, I'm talking about 2 minutes of .... WOW
When trying to break up this accidental fight, my face looked like this
I couldnt believe it. Thrashing

One, admitting you partake in illegal activities is NOT smart. You better be watching your back seriously now if you haven't been before.
Two, for God's sake, please use punctuation & capital letters. It's very hard for people to understand what you are trying to ask & trying to say. Please take a few extra moments so we can all understand what you are asking/saying.
Three, many many many Ch.'s & Gr. Ch.'s were housedogs & childrens' pets. A good dog doesn't have to live a life of solitude from people to work well.

Well I Dont Fight Dogs Just So You Guys Know. And My Key Board Is All Messed Up Plus Im A Lazy Typer Anyways Just Seeing All The Differnt Sides To This. Do You Think If You Have A Game Petbull He Would Be Even More Better Sence You Probly Spend Alot More Time With Him To Make Him Smarter And Also A Loving Worker I Think This Might Be True

I couldnt believe it. ThrashingOk that is not really fair, you cannot give a APBT the ACE compliment if he is fighting a cur, bottom line is 95%of the APBT dogs out there would give this Rott a good thrashing, now it sounds like you have a talented APBT so I am sure that is where the 2minutes came in, but a true ACE does it where it counts, hopefully that diddnt rain on your parade Pdigital, I just hate to see our dogs get mixed up with curs, it just isnt fair, for the curs .http://www.game-dog.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif LOL

Well said. That's nothing to brag about. My boy snuck out the front gate once and got a hold of a cur dog right in front of me. I felt absolutely terrible about it and still do to this day. I intervened immediately and fortunately the cur dog was not hurt bad.

Yeah, I'd say its not fair to do a comparison of a pit against a rottie. Rotties are just to big and slow. My 85lb shepherd bitch took down a few rotties (and other breeds). I never ever fought her but stupid owners would let their dogs come up to mine even though I say mines dog aggressive. They either don't seem to beleive me or they think their dog can take mine. Or they have their dog off leash and no control over it. Grr.. I hate stupid people.
