Look at these two dogs and you tell me if they look like siblings? Same sire and dam so where does this female get her color from? Knowing I stood there and took Buckshots pic and I have offspring from him I think to myself where his full sister got this black or seal coat from if infact she is bred the same way. I'm not trying to start anything but I have had my hands on many of these buckshot bred dogs and know that something ant right. When frisco was bred to black dogs or dogs that had a high % of black in their background is understandable but not in this case. http://www.game-dog.com/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif

My guess would be from chinaman, Gr CH Bo (look at all the chinaman)... you cant tell siblings based on physical appereance since there are so many factors that decided th genes of the dog. Pups often resemble their grandparents, not the parents..
Just as in a red nose x black nose will produce red and black noses in the litter if the black nose carries the red gene..

If there were no blacks in Buckshots litter could this have happened in a different breeding with same sire and dam?

Yes it could have,,it does seem odd but it could have unless the dogs have been known to produce nothing but buckskin..throw backs do happen. can you get pictures of the litter from the breeder? repeat breedings while are using the same 2 dogs dont produce the same results. Why not just go to the breeder and ask? Seeing as you have a dog from the same sire /dam.. maybe the breeder can shed better light on it.

Well, from what I've seen these dogs are Buckskin or buckskin brindles very light colors. I'll contact the man who bred Frisco and Dixie during that time and see if there were ever any blacks from this breeding just to be sure.

Ok, I called the breeder and he said there were two black and a brindle and some buckskin. only 5 or 6 in the litter. I got some bad skinny on this from the start. I just happened to have buckskin throwing dogs from Buckshot I guess!
