More than a dozen canines were impounded and two handlers arrested by Cobb County police Thursday, as officers busted an alleged dog-fighting ring in Mableton, Ga.

Police say an anonymous tip led them to a home where they found evidence lending to an active dog-fighting set. Dogs at the home were found to be injured and scarred in a manner that appeared similar to game dogs.

Cobb police charged Leon Cecil Conley, of Lithonia, Ga., with aggravated cruelty to animals and dog fighting. Joni Duran, of Mableton, is charged with several counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

Conley and Duran are being held by police without bond, authorities said.

There was no immediate word on the fates of the dogs and puppies taken into custody by Cobb County’s animal services division.

I wouldn't doubt that it is a load of BS. Cobb county is known as being very corrupt and unfair. These guys are in alot of trouble whether they are guilty or not.

This is just getting ridiculous. Every day there is someone new getting busted for fighting, or a new mauling has occured. We are never going to get the real message across with this type of CRAP happening every day. Why do people do this. Don't they understand they are causing more harm than anything else. It saddens the soul..........

Police say an anonymous tip led them to a home where they found evidence lending to an active dog-fighting set. When are we ever going to learn? Whoever said it, said it best when they said "Time To Close The Circle". If we don't live by that, we will all lose our dogs. Guilty or Not.
