I have only been an owner for about 3 months. I was wondering if someone can refer me to a site that has a description of the different bloodlines. I got my little girl from my brother and he said she was a cross between an American and a Rednose. He has the grandmother to my dog and she is brindle so I am confused on what these all look like. My girl is white with a few brindle spots. Her mother and father were the same color. I was also wondering how you go about papering a dog? I am not sure if I can paper mine, but was just curious on how to go about doing it. I am also interested in training her for weight pulling. I am pretty sure she would do well in this.
Any info on any of these topics would be very helpful.

Sorry to tell you this, but this a quite common line spouted by byb's when trying to sell their puppies. To them it makes their dogs "legit pit bulls" & they think they can get more money for them. (however, some people are just truly uneducated but this does NOT even come close to excusing them for breeding dogs)

ALL American Pit Bull Terriers are "American". And "rednose" is just the color of a dog's nose. Hence a dog can have a red nose, black nose, or blue nose. But one cannot even begin to figure out bloodlines based on the color of the nose.

Without getting a pup/dog from an honest, reputable owner/breeder who keeps impecable track of his dogs' pedigrees, then there is absolutely now way for you to figure out if your dog is even a purebred "pit bull" much less determine bloodlines. As for registering your dog, you cannot do it. Again, this falls back on the fact that your dog could very well be a mixed breed dog as there is no known or verifiable pedigree on the dog.

As for you spending time trying to determine bloodlines, don't bother. It seems genetics have just been able to differentiate the difference b/n a Boxer & other breeds of dogs, however they still cannot tell the DNA difference b/n most breeds of dogs--therefore a blood test cannot tell you even what breed of dog you own. As for bloodtests for determining bloodlines, this is just another lie from the mouths of byb's & puppy peddlers in order for you to shut up & just pay them for the dog. Right now there are several different types of "pit bulls" so as far as blood tests & DNA goes....it's a no-go.

As far as your pup, I suggest just loving her & training her to be a good representative of the "pit bull" breeds. God knows we need good publicity right now. However, you need to have your dog altered (spayed/neutered). I'm not saying it to be mean, but chances are your dog is a mixed breed with some "pit bull" somewhere in it. This breed is going to hell & literally dying because of back yard breeders & puppy peddlers breeding dogs of unkown background all for the sake of "looking cool" & profit. Like I said, love your dog, fix your dog, & stick around to do some research about the truth behind the "pit bull" breeds.

I did not pay for my dog. I got her for free from my brother. I have seen many of her ansetors and they were APBT. I agree with the getting her altered. For one I don't want to deal with her going into heat. And for two, I don't want any unwanted puppies. Not that I wouldn't want them, but I can only imagine trying to raise that many pit bulls. I just don't want to take the chance of not being able to find them good, loving homes.
