I am the one who put the Jeep/Colby cross before a couple days ago and I was wondering if any of you known that to be a good cross. Please help me out because I'm starting a game bred kennel and I've studied for many years now of the history of the real APBT not the fake Razor Edge, West Coast Bullies that are out today. So if you guys can help me out I would really appreciate that. The cross is 80% Jeep and 100% Colby.

Its a good cross if its out of "Proven" brood-stock.
I personally, like the Colby/Tab, Colby/Virgil, and Colby/Eli crosses, and the Colby/Redboy cross.

You still need to cul hard and keep it representative of what a bulldog should be.

These are all things you would not need to be asking if you had any qualifications to breed these dogs. Keep asking questions and learning and in a couple years you might be in a position where breeding is a good idea for you.

I know about them but I was just verifying my knowledge with you guys because I thought you all had secrets and stuff like that. I've been around many game-bred dogs of my uncle's. But he is kind crazy so I thought what he told me wasn't the right things.

Ummm, no. Gamebred dogs are a dime a dozen. Game dogs can be only a 1 in a lifetime.

I disagree also I've been around my uncles APBT's and he is a game breeder and a couple of his were game and alot wasn't thats why it took hime years before finding true GAME APBT. I do agree with the fact that it will take me five years and probably alot longer.

What do you disagree on Pitbull? You are agreeing with mia when she said gamebred does not make a dog game and game dogs are pretty rare. You can breed litter after litter of the two gamest dogs around and never end up with even one game dog. But as that is not the discussion of this thread and its been covered so many times recently, I'll leave it at that.

If you really have a desire to breed these dogs (for whatever reason you have) you should call around to those that are reputable breeders of the strains that your asking about, take a few yard tours and soak up as much knowledge you can right there on the spot. If you dont mind me asking, Why Jeep/Colby?

Thats exactly what I'm saying 14rock about breeding two game dogs and not having any results of game in the pups. I'm just going off the history of my uncles dogs and what he went through.

I'm just curious here... what made you decide to want to start your own kennel?

The reason I'm interested in Jeep/Colby is because of my uncle. I understand not every dog from with Jeep's blood will be game im not an idiot lol. My uncle has one dog with Jeep blood in him and he is the main APBT terrier in that yard. I mean this dog is amazing and you will have to see it to actually understand where I'm coming from even though I know alot of you allready have seen dogs like this. He is the best dog my uncle ever had and that is in 22 years of doing this. The reason I also want colby is because the history they have. I thought about just having pure Colby but deep down thats not what I want. I've talk to many breeders with Colby in their yard and all I hear is how they great dogs to have and the game they have is amazing.

the colby of back then and the colbys of today are two different things...theres gold, gold plated and fools gold...what are you going to do with all the pups that are not game?look at sorrels bloodlines and how tight they are if you can find colby blood like that today from a real breeder...i would be impressed....i've seen so many black and white dogs being called colbys..

I could be wrong, but I think he was talking about 5 years in the slammer & $10,000 in lawyer's fees! ;)

After reading it again I think you're right ABK LOL. I know the Colby's from back then and to day are different thats why I'm being careful of where I choose from. I am also taking my time and mapping out everything I'm going to do like with the puppies and stuff like that. Nothing Illegal

Jeep was a scatter bred colby dog. If both sire and dam are game, then they will probably cross well and produce some game ones. Make sure you have homes for all the pups before you make the breeding! Good luck!

Again, where is the pedigree to prove this lineage? How do you get those figures anyway (80% + 100% = 180%...?)?
