I rescued an female American Staffordshire Terrier and a mix breed male dog. I've had both for about seven years. Molly the female was brought into our home second. She was 4 months old and Max was 5 months old. She let Max know the very first day we brought her home she was the top dog. They had minor fights always taken care of before a full fights were started. She isn't food aggressive. I fed both out of my hand when they were pups. Human attention and toys seem to be the biggest triggers. We always feed her first, let her out first, and pet her first etc. She is top dog! The trouble started 3 years ago when I brought another dog home ( mix breed). She totally ignores Max and the new dog is allowed to do anything to her including: humping, biting and shaking her legs which have both had surgeries. She obviously doesn't feel Petey threatens her place in the Pack. Anyway.. there have been two fights in which Max has required stiches and there are sure to be more. I've taken all of the toys away and try to look for triggers... seperating them when people come to visit etc. We were so upset by the last fight we almost put her down. My husband wanted to find a home for her where she would be a single dog. I think she would die of a broken heart. I don't know who would want her. She has had four Cruciate Ligament surgeries and is limping again. I would die of a broken heart. Can anyone help? Would removing her front teeth be an option?
