Just a question but what ya'll think about the boyles/mccool cross?
Let's look.....McCool's x Boyles = a very proven (CLASSIC) Carver/Eli cross, only with the addition of Bolio. Sounds like a winner to me. In the past, my camp and I have been guilty of breeding goodlooking paper work, to some o.k. dogs. Which is cool, pending your aim. We had no problem selling offspring, and could just about ask any amount of money for em. When I say breed paper work, I don't mean bad dogs w/fancy papers. I mean we bred good brood dogs, or classic crosses to catch the eye of the "folx". I.e. Jeep/Redboy. Redboy/Jocko. Trying to keep it typical, yet easy on the eye. More recently however the bar has been raised and it's no longer your classic crosses. It's whatever we feel works at that time. You take two good dogs (solid dogs), and stick em together. Using this method, it proved a valuable point: Doesn't have to be a proven cross to produce. Just two great dogs, coming through good blood. In a nut shell, don't be afraid of the cross....be more cautious about the dogs in mind. When you study hard, test are a breeze.YIS BLUE

Lol, I'm sure you have. Let me explain further. When I say we bred good papered dogs, mostly brood to a complete brood out, people would come from miles and pay above avergae prices for the dogs. So...ok what have you. However, when the bar was "raised' so to speak, we got away from all of the tighter nice looking paper work, and started breeding better quality dogs with looser pedigrees, and people didn't come around from miles, just the folx that were familiar with the dogs. The dogs got better when we considered not the papers, but the animals. Not the proven crosses, yet the future ones. Yet still, the demand was for tighter bred o.k. dogs. I guess they found new folx to shop with, but at their loss. I feel the dogs we put out now, are ten folds more valuable than the demand of the past breedings. So when you say more people should be like that, they already are kiddo. All day everyday. I keep my stock and let few go to trusted, responsible owners. Price never mattered, just liked to throw that in there to show you how the game has went South. Hope this clears the clouds.

Yes, he may have been friends w/M, but Mike started McCool's yard. All the current dogs, or shall I say famous dogs, current bloodline, came straight from Mr. T. I know this, because we purchased Goldberg straight from McCool. Mike a was a fair skinned fella from Cajun Kuntry. We rode up years ago and spent 2 weeks with him. It was an experience we'll never forget. I learned so much in that 2 week time frame, I didn't want to leave, LOL. I miss you T-Bo!

well thats not i herd from the man himself?
Doubt he'd tell you. For reasons I'd rather not discuss, it would just start a thread full of b.s. and questions. Truth be told, T-bo is responsible for dogs such as Sack, Apple Jack, Bully, Texas, Pete, Banjo and Belle Star. I heard a lot of things from him, but I weed out the stuff I know better of. Don't get me wrong, he's a stand up guy, his stock didn't come directly from Mr.C though. If you look in the pedigrees alone, there is a gap between McCool and Mr.C. That's my buddy T-bo. I had another guy in my circle at the time of our visit who brought his son with us. At the time, He had to be no more than 2 years old or so. Now this nickname came way before the Florida Gators thought about a quarterback named TEBO. The young'n couldn't pronounce Mr.T's name, so he called him "Mitter T-BO" LMAO! I still laugh now. Mitter T-bo assured the young'n he gave it his all, and stamped him "game as they come"! lol. He died laughing for 8- 10 minutes about that name. He kneeled down and told the young'n, that's what he'll go by, although his mother didn't name him that.Lol. But he was really close to Mr.C. Not saying this is how they met or whatever, but McCool definately should give thanks to T-BO. We purchased Goldberg from McCool and have straws off of him now. Only 4 left, to Only our bitches. This is not an advertisement. This is the truth. Seriously Ben.....

Lol. Big Ben, I apologize, 4got who I was speaking with. The newschoolers know more about the dogs I mentioned earlier. That would stand for more recent success IMO. In the older days, I'm sure he got dogs straight from Mr.c. He also had shelton bred stuff and so-on. And you're right in a sense, all of those guys were pals. It all goes back to the Carver breedings. So apologies... got caught up in the Tbo visit.

A.W & M.T was getting ther stuff straight from the sorce. L.G was getting there stuff off them guys. so you cant really badmouth one without the other. A.W & M.T both had more (pre76) wins and CH's then L.G ever did. That circle wasn't to small they were in all the mag's & online selling / studing dogs.
