Hi, i live in new york city and i have a 8 month old pit that i would like to train for wieght pulling once he's old enough but i heard that you could get fined or your dog can be taken away if a NYPD officer see's you or any on from the ASPCA. Is this true? can any one who knows the answer let me know.
Thank You

Alot of folks see it as "fight training", and in this aspect, its illegal. We all know its not fight training, and that its bogus, but the way courts have been ruling with this so called "evidence" you never know. Do you live in the city?

I don't think so, a few years ago we were asked to go to NYC for a weightpull. There was a community organization that had been holding pulls for the kids in the neighborhood, offerring them something positive to do with their dogs, giving small awards, and they wanted Jimmy to bring Reno up there to one. We never got to go, we were already going to a pull that weekend.

If you watch the show there, Animal Cops/Aspca New York You'll know, it is illegal. They pick up dogs, just for those reasons. Pretty sad to some, but you can't be sure for all. That's why there are laws within city limits called, ordiences. Move else where if, that's what you want to do.

i no iverson its hard to have a pitbull in new york because that automatically makes you a drug dealer fighter and sum1 who breeds to make a pennie you cant stand on the corner with or without your dog without getting pulled over its a pain in the a$$

Thanks Bronxpit, If i had a car i would drive to brooklyn but all i have is public transportation which he's not allowed on. I'll just have to wait till he gets older.
I hate how they treat people with pits just because a few idiots fight there dogs doesn't mean everyone does some people love there dogs like family, My dog is like my son (sounds weird), but i would fight for him if any human or dog messed with him. They make you not want to take your dg out they look for every reason to mess with you, My dog keep scratching his ear so on the tip he has a scar that somtimes opens up it has me worried if it take him to the vet what will they think(it's stupid) .
Thanks again everyone for you help it's very appreciated.
