what kind!!!!

When i first got my puppy i didn't know what kind of dog food to feed. I looked at the places that had dog food. But there were so many different kinds of dog food.I chose the one that i thought would work. But i went to the vet for his first shots and to ask the vet some questions about how to keep him healthy,happy,ect. I asked about feed he said purina puppy chow. so that is what i bought i feed him that for about one to two months then changed to dog chow by purina. But i was chatting with "B" in the chat room and he said that purina wasn't good.I wont to give him the best i can afford. i pay $15 to $20 for a 50lb. bag. So what is good for him? also something for a shiney and healthy coat? "B" said fish oil pills. Also while you are here what about vitamins? good,bad,and what kind?

O my goodness!! I didn't how many kinds of dog food there were like some say pro plan,canidae, diamond,and EVO to name a few. thanks for the e-mails that a few people has sent. I have spent about an hour today and about five or six last night on diferint fourms and places you have told me about.there have been a lot of people ask around the same Q and the one that has come up the most was Caindae.so i think that that is the one i will go with if i can get it here. If not i mite try the pro plan it came a good bit to.I steel would like to know about the V's. Thanks again.
