I am interested in getting my 6 month old pup into weight pulling.

What are some signs (if any) that would show if your dog was a good candidate for it? I myself have noticed he is much stronger than my 1 yr. old dog somehow lol, and much stronger than she was at his age. He also has great wind, I still do not believe I have seen him pant even after working hard. He also doesn't give up on what he's doing - especally tug of waring with the other or the springpole when his sneaky butt gets it. (I don't want him on it until all adult teeth come in but he sneaks on it sometimes lol).

Though I don't know where to start at all, but I've been researching around for beginners information. Also I am becomming a member of the Green country APBT Club and a few people offered to let me use their tracks for training. Very nice people.

Problem: puppy has NO attention span whatsoever. None. Well he does if you have food in your hands... Any tips? :)

hes a puppy. work with him and he will learn.

as far as pulling, drive drive drive thats what i would like to see. if a dog has little or no drive he wont want to work. sounds like you have a decent prospect on your hands. good luck and most importantly, find someone in that club that does this and is willing to teach you.

when my dog was 6 months i seen that he had the same ambition as ur dog does. i started takeing him sprint up hills and stairs with me but i never got him in to pulling weights he is 1yr and 2 months kno. im going to wait tell hes 1yr 7months or 1year and 5 months to start weight pulling. Iwill start with only 5pounds the first month then to 10 pounds for 2months. then go up 5 pounds every month. When i start getting bacc in shape i get my dog in shape too also.

i have done pulling and I would like to help you. i rescued a 4 year old last spring she was my first pit bull, when i got her she was fat lazy and didnt know ANYTHING. but i got her in shape (it took 4 months) but i did it. it was very very hard she was so far out of shape, i think she sat it a pen all her life........

anyways i heard there was gunna be a fun show in the summer so i worked really hard with her and it turned out that fat lazy drivless dog could pull

3,900 lbs! to me its all training if i could do it anyone can.

here read this site top to bottom, especally the weight pulling artical......
