any input about this dog's attributes? any offspring? I know some say he was registered, some say he was a rescue dog

I believe he was a K.C. registered staff and an honest dog. There was a picture of him posted on here a while back.

still a little bit of his blood around but mainly in pet homes now.
duke himself won 2, 1 over a son of the gino dog and one over (i think, but my memory is cloudy) a nelis x bronson dog, before losing a long one to ch bash.as far as i know he was registered and have seen him this way in pedigrees.the dog was a typical stafford in most ways, around 18 inches tall, good with kids and enjoyed being made a fuss of, obviously he was not so typical in his ability, one of the better ones i would say.

sad that his blood is mainly in pet homes. wouldnt mind seing some dogs with his blood out of curiosity. see i thought he never lost one and thought he finished on top of bash and bash's owner picked him up after like 2hrs and 1 min or something like that. thanks for the info, to both of you as this is really interesting. another thing i dont remember exactly who or when but some well known dogman would put his hands on fire scarecrow was a rescue dog

Caption: "Duke" was a KC Reg Staff of "Rapparee" breeding who was very highly regarded in sporting circle's with a reputation for giving a torrid time to some well-bred Pitbull's,not to mention leaving their owner's somewhat red-faced!The first was a game-tested Gino X Reid dog that had seen quite enough of Duke by the 42 minute mark.Next was a Bronson/Nelis dog with a reputation, who saw Duke as a warm-up to "Bigger & Better things" but half an hour in Duke's company was enough warming-up for this one!Duke was then matched against the very game, and future Champion "Scotsman's Bash",after a hard, evenly contested 1hr 30mins,it was becoming apparent that one of these game animals would have to take his death before a winner was found so Duke was picked-up by his owner, conceding the match but showing his desire to continue by giving a hard courtesy scratch. Duke was'nt bred very much for various reasons but apparently 2 or 3 of his son's are a chip of the old block causing the odd nightmare among the Pitbull's!.Duke was over 15 year's old before he passed away.

During his keep and in the nights leading up to the Bash v Duke match, the Road Warrior often took Bash lamping for rabbits and foxes on the golf course and surrounding hills close to the area he lived... A week before the match, Bash chased and killed a badger on the golf course, he recieved some facial injuries but seemed to enjoy the expirience immensely...The Scotsman was always in a panic over the prospect of Bash being seriously injured so close to the date of the show but the Road Warrior just laughed and went lamping anyway.

Duke was a good Stafford with mouth to die for... Bash was a good Pitbull with gameness to die for... The only dog that was ever getting killed that day was Duke... After taking some head damage in the first 30mins, it was even for the next 30... However, during the last 30mins Bash got deep into Dukes guts and was killing him right there in the box when Scarecrow stepped in to save his dog... I put 7 stitches in Bash's head that night, he just stood there looking over at his food bowl as I worked on him... When I was finished the Road Warrior put Bash back into his kennel and he ate all his dinner... Bash gave away 4 pounds to match into CH.Yogi at 42lb and he crawled over on his belly to courtesy scratch into Yogi that day... Was there ever a 38lb dog in the UK at that time that could have coped with Bash? Personally I don't think so... (maybe Hagar?)

oldguy you must kicking yourself for giving this dog away as a reject as you had him on your yard.
you maybe put 7 stiches in bash's head that night but you certainly werent invited to the match as you were not intrested in the reid bloodline all other dogmen were invited you missed a classic.
