I don't think anybody has ever recorded such a thing but we have speed gun for our flyball team and Maximus has been clocked at 34mph.

You can buy a Busnell speed gun for about 100 bucks. They are pretty accurate. We use them at events all the time to raise money for good causes.
We make up these speeding tickets and for a buck you can test your dogs speed. We raised 2000 bucks at an event, people were donating more than a dollar but the money went to canine cancer research. It's a good thought for anyone who puts on events across the country and guarantee people will donate more when the money is raised for a good cause. You could aslo do prizr raffles for the fasted dog. There are a bunch of ideas that could be used with the speed gun.
that's a GREAT idea. we're doing a Dogtober Fest at my work to raise money for our zoos. (100% of the profit will go there) and we've been looking for other 'things' to do... gunna toss this idea at them. :) TY!

Ha! Thanks a lot BB - stirring the kettle! I'll say this, my girl can fly, but Maximus sounds like he's got the record wrapped up. We'll give him all the glory! Maximus, you are awesome.
It would be interesting to see how fast my girl could run, so maybe some of the clubs will pick that up as an extra money maker. Sounds like it would be fun to watch.
