i've tried to tie out my pit, i used a plastic drum/barrel and turned it on its side so as her shelter... but it seems she won't go inside... any suggestions on what to do... any links or pics of dog houses... TNX..

I LET MINE SIT IT OUT FOR A WHILE MOST OF THE TIME THEY WILL GO IN I HAVE SOME THAT NEVER HIT THE HOUSE TILL AFTER IM ASLEEP LOL IF NOT TRY A DIFFRENT STYLE HOUSE SUCH AS WOOD OR IGLOO TYPE ALSO MAKE SURE THERES NO WASPS OR SNAKES IN IT I HAD 1 THAT HAD A NEST IN IT THATS WHY HE NEVER WENT IN LOL................

You could easily make your own dog house. Trust me its probably the easiest thing you can do. Even if you don't have any major carpentry skills its not too bad. Just PM me and I can give you a couple of tips and send you some of the blueprints on building just a standard box shaped dog house. It'll also be built so that you your dog can also be well venelated in the summer months.

All of our dog houses are the white plastic drums, Our dogs wouldn't go in them untill we washed them out!!! They had a soap solution in them that made them smell funny and our dogs would not go in them untill we washed them. Hope this helps.

Nope......Its not cheap to make them and it takes awhile to build one...I don't think anyone would want to buy one....

Make offers and I'll let you know if I can build one for that price.......YIS

if you would tell us how to make them it would be greatly appreciated and think of all the pups lives you would save. i lost almost a whole litter, my male got off the chain and killed them one by one. lost lots of money.

if you made instructions, it would not take you very long, all you would have to do is briefly list the tools needed for the project. list the materials needed for the project. step by step from start to finish instructions and any tips or hints. you could sell them for 10 dollars each and take paypal payments over the net and fax them the instructions with any pictures or email them would be cheaper. no shipping or handling. you could make money just on that alone.

I have the same problem , my dog is cage trained and he doesn't like his new dog house. He only goes in his cage. He slept in a chair the other day instead of going in his house.

I had a problem getting my dogs to go in there barrels.... I found out it was toooo slippery for them... so I screwed carpet down to the inside... to give them some traction. They go in now...

Also, make sure the barrel is screwed to some kind of a base so it dosnt try to roll away...
