I looked around this section but didnt find anything. I want to see some sites that have a prefarbly chain link kennel. I mean something that is maybe like 5-6ft tall and atleast 6 feet long and 4 wft wide or something like that you get the idea. I have know very little about these things. And it would be on grass.

I am having a problem with my girl, she has a breathing problem and seems to do alot better outside. Chaining her is not really an option and i will be moving soon so this is not definit just want to see my options and price ranges for this type of thing.

This would be maybe for when we are out and i would lock it and i dont think someone would try and still her anyways but we could be safe. She would probaly scare someone off anyway she doesnt have the perfect tempement , she is very territorial.

And i crate her when i am not home but i always think about what if there was a fire or something http://www.pitbullforum.com/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif.

Anway i just want to see some good secure kennels with/without the roof too.

Aaron

Nothing to pricey too.

Thanks

You can probably build one yourself for a lot cheaper than if you go out and buy one, or pay someone else to do it. It's the same as putting up a chain link fence, which isn't difficult.

Check your local Tractor Supply or farm store. Ive seen decent sized ones for around 200-300 bucks. Look in your local newspaper for them too, always a few good deals. It is not easy to correctly install a fence unless u know what u r doing. YIS

Thanks for the advice, IS this a good price $233 for a 6h' x 4l' x 4w'. I guess it may be kinda small but my girl is only about 41 pounds fat. I dont know if the link will work...........

I'd find one a bit bigger, that one the dog barely has room to do anything more than turn around...and if you throw a dog house in there, its almost full. The only kennel I've ever bought I picked up at the Farm & Fleet store, and its something like 6 foot tall, 8 foot long, 5 foot wide or so. It came as a kit, with all 3 sides, the front with the door, and a top, and all hardware for less than 150.

Not a good choice. That is no bigger than a dog crate, not even room for a dog house and the price is ridiculous. Take other's advice and go to a tractor supply, they have one that is 6'h X 10'L X 6'W here for $300 something.

That one seems alot better, 6'H x 5'W x 10'L

I will try and find a tractor supply but have never heard of one up here. This is kinda the same price as the one you mentioned.

That second one is the one that I was thinking of. It should be fine unless you have a high drive dog, or an escape artist. Great price for the size.

Bottom one looks fine, just buy one extra panel for the top so he cant climb out, wrap the top and sides with a tarp to block wind, and put it on some cement, and tie it to something sturdy so it doesnt move.

pay the money and get the wire one. i am saving to make a long trip to a tractor supply and but at least 4 of them.

the heavy wire is way better. i am getting the smaller ones though, because they sell attachable roofs for the top. my dogs can jump up and put thier legs over the top of a 6 foot kennel and get out so i have to have a top. plus, set up next to one another, they look clean and professional. IMO they are big enough for bulldogs 50# and under, easpecially if space is an issue. plus you can lock them, and attach them to the ground to keep thieves away.

Yea i was too thinking that the wire looked heavier and sturdier and even though i like the size of the first, it looks like space is gonna be issue with that one. They sell the top for that size wire one too.

check out those 2 50 + pound golden retrievers, not too bad of an area, even more for one dog. another good thing is look at the bottom of the wire kennel. there is a 2 inch space that makes it easy to spray out poop, debris, whatever right out from under the wire. right now i have chain link, and it is a bitch to spray out all the straw pieces that come out of the barrels. you cna also attach the barrels to the side of the kennels using small diameter chains and snaps from home depot. it helps in keeping the kennels clean when the housing is up off the floor.

Sounds good, only thing is right now i will have to put it on grass for now until i move. I dont have a problem with that. She will probaly still sleep inside the house at night but if not i will put some towels or something in there. I am guessing you have more than one bulldog so cnat keep them in in your house (not that you want or need to). so if they live in there straw sounds perfect i only have one dog so keeping her in the house is easy but she has a collasped treacha (sp?) so she needs alot of fresh air it seems. SHe was only diagnosed two days ago.

The AKC kennels are made by Lucky Dog kennels. We bought a few of them and had problems. Spent over $1500 on them and the customer service reps were terrible to deal with. They are guaranteed not to rust, YEAH RIGHT! When asked about it they told us to scrape the rust off and get some spray on stuff from Ace and take care of it ourselves and that they don't take care of rust, although it says it won't. VERY RUDE and I would never purchase from them again. Spend the money and get a Magnum or a Blue Maxx!

Wow i would never have guessed that. Are you sure all the AKC ones are made by those people? COuld you give me the links for the other ones if you have them too, thanks.

If you can afford it, I'd go with Priefert. http://www.priefert.com/dynamic/prod_list.php These kennels are top notch, plus they are expandable and offer some nice options. Chain link is very flimsy in reality. Some dogs do fine with it, but I've had an Australian Cattle Dog just shred it to bits. If your dog is an escape artist maybe you should look into something of higher quality. Good luck.

I don't know about websites, but when we had to build a kennel to satisfy city code, we went to Home Depot. They sell 6' x 6' panels and you can clamp them together to make whatever size kennel you need. We picked up 8 of them and made a 6' x 12' kennel with a top. Then we sunk poles into the concrete and secured the kennel to them. (Law required a kennel that was "dig-proof.")

I don't know much about the wire kennels, but I do know that Cheryl Caragan (Caragan Kennels) bought some Magnum kennels (which are wire) and had major problems. One of her dogs managed to break the weld on one of the wires, and she came out to the poor boy hung up by his impaled foot. Magnum kennels doesn't want to honor their 1-year warranty, and they told Cheryl that they only weld every other wire.

Another word of caution. If you're planning on having her outside quite a bit, make sure you locate the kennel where it can't be easily seen. And invest in a good lock for the kennel door. (That wont stop someone with wire cutters, but it'll prevent any one less dedicated from stealing her.) You don't want her to be an easy target.

Thanks bahamutt, the kennel would be in my backyard which you cant see from the street only the street. Thanks for that info i was just told by someone about 30 mins ago about the dog impaling his foot. I think i am gonna avoid them. I was just told about this place and they look like they have some nice stuff.

Those are nice kennels as well, a little more expensive than the other ones but nice none the less.
